Pokémon Go Unova Stone – how to get the Unova Stone for Chandelure and many more

The Unova Stone from Pokémon Go is a special evolution item that allows you to evolve Gen 5 Pokémon just like the Sinnoh Stone.

However, unlike the Sinnoh Stone, the Unova Stone will not be used to evolve Pokémon from previous generations. Instead, it will be used to complete many of those introduced in Gen 5.

The Unova Stone is one of many special evolution items in Pokémon Go, including King’s Rock for Slowking and Politoed, Metal Coat for Steelix and Scizor, Up-Grade for Porygon 2, and Dragon Scale for Kingdra.

How to get a Unova Stone in Pokémon Go

Thanks to Chrales for this image of the Unova Stone.

Similar to the Sinnoh Stone, it is possible (but not guaranteed) to receive a Unova Stone by:

More Unova Stone sources may be implemented over time; The Sinnoh Stone can also be found by defeating other trainers in PvP Trainer Battles, for example.

Until then, completing those seven-day field research rewards is the way to get those Unova stones.

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

What Pokémon can use the Unova Stone in Pokémon Go?

Gen 5 has a variety of Pokémon that have special conditions for their evolutions, including the use of Stones that are not available in Pokémon Go, which are replaced with the Unova Stone in Pokémon Go.

These are the currently available uses of a Unova Stone in Pokémon Go:

Other stone-based evolutions, such as Gen 5’s Cottonee and Petilil, have been confirmed to use a sunstone.
