Pokémon Go Starry Skies quest steps, best Choose Path and rewards

Starry Skies is a special research mission that will allow you to catch a Cosmog in Pokémon Go.

Released on Friday, June 16 as part of the Solstice Horizons event, this quest offers you the chance to catch a Cosmog, which you can eventually turn into a Solgaleo or Lunala. This is perfect for players who want to complete the Gen 7 Pokédex in Pokémon Go and currently only have one of these legendary Pokémon in their Pokédex.

Since Starry Skies is also a branching quest, it’s a good idea to know which Choose Route option is best for you.

Below you will find the steps for the Starry Skies quest in Pokémon Go to help you complete this quest and add another Pokémon to your Alola Pokédex.

Steps of the ‘Starry Skies’ mission in Pokémon Go

Below you will find all the steps of the Starry Skies mission in Pokémon Go. Please note that you must be above level 5 to unlock this quest.

To access the Starry Skies mission, you must play Pokémon Go before Sunday, June 25 at 8 pm (local time). You can also purchase an additional run for the mission before this date, which you can learn more about in the sections below.

Since this is a special research mission, once unlocked you will be able to complete it at your own pace.

Starry Skies is also a branching quest, meaning that after completing the first step, you will be asked to choose between the day path or the night path. This choice will determine several of the challenges you will face and one of the rewards you will receive. Both paths, however, result in an encounter with Cosmog.

Be warned: this section contains spoilers!

Starry Skies is the best path to choose in Pokémon Go

After completing Step 1 of Starry Skies in Pokémon Go, you will be asked to choose between the day or night path. Afterwards, several of the challenges you will face, along with one of the rewards, will depend on the path chosen. Because of this, it’s important that you choose your path carefully, especially since you can’t change paths.

However, the best path for you depends on your play style in Pokémon Go and what you like to do in the game.

Here’s a quick summary of the differences between the two paths:

Both paths will lead to an encounter with Cosmog.

As you can see from the mission overview and steps sections above, both Starry Skies paths are designed to take a good amount of time. For this reason, we recommend reading the quest step sections specific to each Path before making a decision to ensure you choose the right one.

It can be argued that the Night Path is a little quicker to complete since it doesn’t involve any walking-related challenges, but you would need to use Premium or Remote Raid Passes to complete the raid-related challenge in one day. If you choose this path, we recommend completing the first challenge in Step 2 (Catch 20 Ghost or Dark-type Pokémon) during the Solstice Horizons event, because Pokémon of both types will appear more frequently at night.

It may take you longer to complete the Day Path, as it requires you to walk 10 km for a challenge, an egg-themed challenge, and two “Catch 50 Pokémon” tasks. However, if you’re like me and aren’t very good at making great throws, you might find it easier to complete. It also doesn’t require you to spend any Raid Passes.

Please note that the only reward change is the lure you will receive. This means that if you really want a Mossy or Glacial decoy module but don’t want to pay for it, you need to choose your path around that.

Personally, I’ll choose the Day Path because it better suits my playstyle of walking around, catching Pokémon, and only doing one raid per week. (I just don’t feel like doing more than one a week right now…)

Starry Skies works pretty much the same as any other special research mission in Pokémon Go: it challenges you to complete a series of challenges to advance the mission and earn rewards. Once a quest step is complete, you can earn a branch of rewards before moving on to the next one until you complete the quest.

The only difference between Starry Skies and most other special research missions is that it is a branching mission, meaning that after Step 1, you will have to choose between one of two paths: day or night. Your choice will determine some of the challenges you will face and one of the rewards. It is important to remember that you cannot change your mind after selecting a path.

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! He has brought the Timed Investigation: Master Ball quest, which offers you the chance to win another Master Ball. There’s also a new season of Go Battle League to participate in. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete Routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
