Kartana Weaknesses and Counterattacks in Pokémon Go

Below you will find Kartana’s weaknesses and counterattacks that will help you defeat it in Pokémon Go:

  • Kartana Type – Grass/Steel
  • Kartana is weak against Fire (x2) and Fighting types.
  • Kartana’s best counters: Entei, Shadow Ho-Oh, Moltres and Reshiram for fire-types, and Machamp, Lucario and Conkeldurr for fighting-types.
  • Other Celesteela Notes: Fire types deal double damage due to the Grass and Steel duel type, so go for them if you can, especially if you have a Shadow Ho-Oh in the shop.

Best Kartana Moveset in Pokémon Go

Our recommendation for Kartana’s moveset is Razor Leaf (Fast) and Leaf Blade (Charged), both grass moves.

Despite its grass and steel dual-type, it does not have a steel move in its list in its debut; otherwise, you can go for Aerial Ace (flying) as a second move if you have Candy and Stardust to spare.

Below you can find the full set of fast and charged moves for Kartana in Pokémon Go:

Everything we know about Kartana

Kartana made her first appearance in Pokémon Go alongside Celesteela during the Season of Light in September 2022, the week of the Test Your Mettle event.

In its debut, Kartana is only available in gyms in the Northern Hemisphere, meaning that if it doesn’t appear locally, you must receive a remote raid invite to fight and try to catch.

As part of Gen 7, Kartana debuted in Pokémon Sun and Moon, where it could be found during the Sol postgame.

According to the official Pokédex entry, Kartana’s body is “paper thin” and “like a sharp sword.” Do you know what is more worrying? “Although it is alien to this world and a danger here, it is apparently a common organism in the world where he normally lives.” So let’s hope only one makes it through the Ultra Wormhole.

Good luck catching Kartana in Pokémon Go!
