Persona 5 Royal Endings, including how to get all Bad, Good, and True Endings

There are several Persona 5 Royal endings throughout this story. Some are good, many are bad, but only one is true. Everything is possible depending on the choices and competition in the game’s Palaces. Fortunately, bad endings are easy to avoid if you know what you’re doing.

The original Persona 5 had multiple endings, and it’s worth mentioning that in Persona 5 Royal, you can still get them. This time, we have three new endings that tie into Royal’s third half, along with some different unlock criteria. Some are based on dialogue options, which will be signposted, and we have some tips below.

If you’re worried about spoilers, we’ve avoided getting too specific, so don’t worry about taking a look. But we recommend that you wait until you get to the actual ending if you want to watch every ending. Some can ruin the game, so we recommend that you keep saving more if you miss something. You can visit them again once everything is finished.

How to get bad endings in Persona 5 Royal

There are several ways to get bad endings in Persona 5 Royal throughout the game, most of which can be easily avoided. Those are:

  • At the beginning of the game, you do not accept the contract that Igor gave you. He will return you to the main menu.
  • Do not complete any Palace before the deadline. This one should be pretty clear, so save yourself the trouble and clear each Palace as soon as you’re ready. Careful planning can help you avoid missing deadlines.
  • When the story progresses to the interrogation in progress, you can have a bad ending if you answer incorrectly. To avoid this, select the first answer to the second and third interrogatory questions.

Achieving completion based on a deadline causes the game to rewind the calendar a week, giving you another chance. So with these you will always have a second chance.

How to Get the Original Good Ending and True Ending in Persona 5 Royal

Some fans may disagree with calling this a “good” ending for reasons we won’t detail. However, because it is widely known as such, that is what we call it here.

To get the good and true endings it is necessary to reach the last original dungeon of the game. If you accept the offer, you’ll get the “good” ending, which will shortly after lead to the credits. If you reject it, you will access the original True Ending of Persona 5.

It is necessary to obtain the original True Ending to access the third semester of Royal, which we will talk about in detail shortly. However, you must reach Rank 9 for the Confidant Advisor before November 17. Otherwise, you will not be able to access the new Royal content and will end up with the original True Ending.

While this is not required, we recommend that you get Justice Confidant to Rank 8 before November 17 for a post-credits scene. Missing this won’t exclude you from the third semester, but you will miss out on a great time. We’re obviously vague on the details, but the options should be obvious when they happen.

How to get bad and alternate endings in Persona 5 Royal

Persona 5 Royal features two new bad endings. As stated above, reaching them requires unlocking the original True Ending of Persona 5 first. Once you’ve reached the third half, you’ll receive an offer on January 9 and, if you initially reject it, again on February 2. Accepting this offer at any time starts the new bad ending.

Of course, we couldn’t have a new Palace in Persona 5 Royal without one last bad ending for missing the deadline. To see this, reject that initial offer on January 9th and then fail to secure a route to the treasure before February 2nd. Then watch this depressing scene unfold.

How to get the royal ending and bonus scene in Persona 5 Royal

Unlocking the true ending of Persona 5 Royal is quite simple once you reach the third half. You must reject both offers on January 9 and February 2, secure a route to the final treasure of the Palace, and defeat the boss. Once this is done, watch the new final scene unfold.

As mentioned above, a short post-credits bonus scene can be unlocked by getting Justice Confidant to rank 8 before November 17. The last two ranks are then automatically unlocked as the story progresses. Once this is done, congratulations, you have finished Persona 5 Royal.

Have fun unlocking all the endings in Persona 5 Royal!
