Did you know that the 2023 Oscars will break the 62-year tradition of champagne-colored red carpets? The Oscars red carpet dates back to 1961 during the 33rd Academy Awards. With the red carpet color change this year, the Academy will replace its 62-year-old tradition. Late night host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel will return to host the Oscars after hosting in 2017 and 2018.
