Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Large Herbivore Bone location and uses

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expands on the base game and adds new hunts, switch abilities, and more.

Large Herbivore Bones are a new crafting resource that can be obtained from certain small monsters in Monster Hunter Rise. They are used to forge new pieces of armor, as well as decorations.

Here’s where to find large herbivore bones in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. We will focus on Rhenoplos, which are mainly found in Sandy Plains and Lava Caverns. Make sure you have unlocked these areas in Master Rank before continuing.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Large Herbivore Bone Location

Large Herbivore Bones are obtained as carved rewards from Rhenoplos and Slagtoth. Since Rhenoplos is available in earlier areas, we will focus on them to obtain large herbivore bones. Head to the Sandy Plains map on a Master Rank expedition, which is unlocked after defeating the first urgent quest available at Master Rank.

If you look at the map embedded above, you’ll find Rhenoplos at 3, 6, 8, and 10. Simply head to these areas and look for a big brown monster with horns. You can see what they look like in the image below:

Simply kill as many Rhenoplos as you can and cut them down. You have a 20% chance of obtaining Large Herbivore Bone for each size. See the table below for more information:

Uses of large herbivore bone

You will need a Large Herbivore Bone to craft various pieces of equipment in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Mainly the Rhenoplos X set, the Slagtoth X set, and the Dober Grieves

Additionally, you can increase the number of monster sizes by using the Feather of Mastery helmet. This is rewarded for completing all six arena quests in Kamura Village.
