Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst walkthrough

Each of the game’s main missions is unlocked in a linear order, indicated by a red diamond on the game map. While you’re free to take a break and explore the city for distractions, playing the game’s missions will unlock other districts, upgrade MAGrope, and populate the world with additional content. It’s also the fastest way to gain experience, giving Faith valuable movement and combat upgrades that make navigating Glass City much easier.

Collectibles: None Unlocks: ‘Reunion’ Trophy

When you are going down the stairs and through the containment doors, instead of getting on the bus, turn around and walk towards Icarus, who looks through the door and can take you out. After the cutscene introducing Gridlink, follow Icarus to the end of the street and follow the on-screen directions to ascend to the rooftops.

It should be easy to follow, but in summary, press the nearest left shoulder button to go up, such as climbing buildings, and the rear left shoulder button to go down, such as falling safely to lower levels.

When you touch the ground again, you will be introduced to your first enemy, a Guardian, who deals light melee damage. He just spam attacks until he falls, then press the right back button to go through the door and through the warehouse.

Follow the prompts to navigate the various obstacles in the warehouse, teaching you how to wall run and swing from poles you hear. After the helicopter detects you, you will make some movements above your head and your ghost will pass through the closed door. Here, turn around and climb the ladder to reach the other side, where you will have to fight another enemy, before meeting Icarus again.

The route to the Everdyne Tower and the Orion Building

After the cutscene, you can activate Runner’s Vision, highlighting a route through the world. While it’s not always the quickest route when exploring the game’s open world, it’s always a useful guide to follow and, in linear missions like these, it’s the best way to get you from A to B.

Continue forward, following the Vision in the corridor, and feel free to ignore any KrugerSec guards you encounter along the way. Run well before jumping to the ladder of the other building right after getting the Vision; otherwise it is a linear path; Remember that when falling from the poles, hold the left back button to soften the blow upon landing.

Once you reach the Orion Building, shortly after the zipline, you’ll learn some of the basics of combat. Follow the instructions exactly to learn a series of movements. The bottom line here is that momentum, whether jumping from above, off walls, or sliding along the floor, will be more powerful than stationary melee attacks, and that maintaining a direction to kick guards into each other or from railings is another recommended way to avoid it. cause a little more damage. You can try the tutorial at the end of this section again if you need to practice any specific details.

The rest of the mission forces you to continue climbing up the building, eliminating guards along the way. It’s a good place to test your new skills, whether attacking from above or kicking guards into each other. Follow the Runner’s Guide until you encounter the Sentinel, which will knock you down to a lower level. Retrace your steps back to that point and continue up the elevator shaft to the roof. Title card time!

The final part of the mission takes you to one of the game’s safe houses, The Lair. Along the way you’ll get another tutorial for Focus Shield; Freerunning builds this gauge, which helps protect you from getting hurt in combat. Follow the prompts until it is complete and you will finish this initial mission.

Meeting, visit Birdman and follow the red

Before the next story mission proper, you’ll have a series of smaller, non-playable “story” objectives. Activate Runner’s Vision and head to The Lair, the main safe house at Zephyr Transit Hub. After the cutscene, you’ll get your racer kit and be taken to the Progression screen, where you’ll need to unlock the Beat Map upgrade within the Equipment section.

Now it’s time to visit Birdman, one of the game’s supporting characters. Follow the runner’s vision through the open world. If you get lost, open the map to reorient yourself. It is at this point that the next mission, ‘Old Friends’, will be unlocked.

You can continue with this right now; You can open the map and set a waypoint for that quest marker, but for the purposes of the guide, continue with the waypoint you have.

Birdman’s hideout is at the top of a building in Concord Plaza, where the ‘Follow the Red’ subquest will begin. This introduces you to the concept of Dashes when running the Birdman Route.

While most Dashes generally require long shortcuts, you can mostly follow the markers to meet the three-star requirement, although we recommend cutting the corner of the opening building to save a little time.
