A video circulating on the Internet about the current Dalai Lama has sparked controversy among Internet users who describe the spiritual leader’s behavior as “disgusting” and “creepy.” After which the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetans, has now offered an apology to the boy in the video and his family. In an official statement, the Buddhist leader said that he regretted the pain that his words may have caused the minor and his family. He further states: “A video has been circulating showing a recent meeting in which a young man asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug. His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends around the world, for the pain his words may have caused.
His Holiness often makes fun of people he meets in an innocent and playful manner, even in public and on camera. He regrets the incident.”
