Indian American Shiva Ayyadurai, who is credited with “inventing email,” applied to take over as CEO of social network Twitter after Elon Musk conducted an online survey asking users if he should or not leave the position of general director.
Ayyadurai sent a tweet to Elon Musk saying, “I am interested in the CEO position @Twitter. I have 4 degrees from MIT and have built 7 successful high-tech software companies. Please inform me about the process to apply.”
The tweet has garnered over 9 million views so far, and users have flocked to it, with many praising the man for his incredible credentials, while others respond non-affirmatively to the tweet.

Who is Shiva Ayyadurai?
Shiva Ayyadurai was born on December 2, 1963 in Mumbai. In 1978, when he was just 14 years old, Ayyadurai created a computer program and called it “E-mail.” The program recreated all the functionalities of the interoffice mail system, including inbox, outbox, folders, notes, attachments, address book, and more.
Four years later, in 1982, the United States government granted Ayyadurai the copyright to Email, at a time when copyright was the only mechanism to safeguard software inventions. Since then, he officially became the inventor of email.
Ayyadurai first became interested in human health as a child after observing his grandmother, who was a healer. He continued his education in systems biology at MIT, which eventually led to the invention of Systems Health, an innovation that offers an integrative framework connecting Eastern and Western medicine.
Their recent creation, CytoSolve, offers a platform for modeling complicated biological events to facilitate the development of multiple combination therapies without cruelty testing on animals.
Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai is a systems scientist with four degrees from MIT and has a formidable academic background and career.

After months of controversies and disasters, the current CEO of Twitter and founder of Tesla, billionaire Elon Musk, conducted a survey on the microblogging platform, asking its users whether or not he should step down as CEO of said platform, and stating that he would. respect the results of the survey. More than 17 million people participated in the survey and 57.5% of Twitter users voted for Musk to resign.

Following the survey results, Musk tweeted that he would resign as Twitter CEO once he found someone else to take over.
