Independence Day 2023: The Complete Timeline of Indian Freedom Struggle

Diwali 2023 – The people of India will celebrate their 77th Diwali this year. 76 years have passed since India gained independence from British rule. The day also coincides with the partition of India into two new dominions, India and Pakistan.

On August 15, 1947, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru unfurled the Indian tricolor flag at the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. The auspicious day came after a long battle and a series of events listed below.
