Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak’s initial requirements are pretty straightforward, but they first require playing a decent amount of Monster Hunter Rise.
The expansion, which continues the long tradition of Japanese games having incredibly long names, then releases its new additions in stages, each with a bevy of monsters, quests, and other things that all seasoned hunters will eagerly sharpen their swords for. .

How to start Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
Starting the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak DLC expansion is simple: all you need to do is reach Hunter Rank (HR) 7 and defeat Thunder Serpent Narwa.
To do this, progress through the Gathering Hub missions. Complete a set number of key missions and you will unlock an urgent mission; This usually involves defeating a monster so you can level up your FC.
Every time you level up your HR, you unlock a new quest band (HR 2 unlocks 2* quests, for example). So your goal is to reach HR7 and beat Narwa.
If you have already done this; excellent. If not, do it and then watch a bunch of scenes that end with the Twins facing each other on the beach (intentionally vague to avoid spoilers).
After this, you’ll talk to Fugen the Elder and Guild Master Hojo in the back of the Gathering Hub. This will increase your friend level cap, add a new 7* quest, and add a new high-rank Rampage quest.
Your rank will also jump from HR7 to HR8, and your mission will be to rank up to HR20. This is where Sunbreak officially begins.

How to get to Elgado
Assuming you have the Sunbreak DLC installed, a pop-up will appear instructing you to chat with Rondine the Trader at the village entrance. Talking to her is the first step to reaching Elgado, the center of the mission where Sunbreak takes place.
However, once you embark on the DLC, you will briefly lose access to Kamura Village (for about an hour), so run around the village, do what you must, and then head to where Rondine is waiting for you.
Don’t worry, she’s still in her usual spot if you want to talk to her normally; Doing so will not keep you out of the village.
When you’re ready, talk to her at the entrance to the town. She will tell you that monsters that are not native to Kamura have started appearing and that someone needs to do something about it.
First things first, there’s an old fan favorite first seen in Monster Hunter 2, the Daimyo Hermataur, wandering around the Sanctuary Ruins. Go and talk to Minoto when you’re ready and start the quest to take him down.
