Bombirdier, also known as Open Sky Titan, is one of the five Titan Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Discovering and defeating Bombirdier is necessary as part of the Path of Legends story, and it is our recommended Titan starter Pokémon to face in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Regardless of the order you tackle them, you’ll want to know more about the Open Sky Titan’s location as well as Bombirdier’s weaknesses, especially if you’re approaching a low level.
In this page:
Recommended level Open Sky Titan
It is recommended that you have a gear level between 20 and 20 before taking on the Open Sky Titan. If you are below, be sure to focus on flying and dark weaknesses, which are explained later on this page.
Open Sky Titan Location
The Open Sky Titan is located northwest of Cortondo/southwest of Cascarrafa in Western Province (Area One). The closest PokeCentre is WPA1 Central.
Follow the hill north, past the windmills, and you will receive a call informing you that you are close to the Titan, but that you should be careful of the rocks. That’s what we’re looking for: a mountain with a lot of Malteser-looking rocks in the way.
Encounter with the Titan in the open sky
We recommend using the dash to avoid rocks (assuming you’ve already defeated another Titan to unlock it) until you reach a point where you’ll face Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan.
As with all titans, after an initial fight, he will retreat before eating an herb. It’s time to fight again, with Arven in tow, who comes equipped with a level 19 Nacli.
Once the battle is over (see below for weaknesses if you want to easily get the upper hand), you will enter the cave and discover a Herba Mystica. This will unlock a new exploration ability for Koraidon or Miraidon: the swimming ability.
Our The Teal Mask walkthrough will help you complete the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, but make sure you know how to start it first. When visiting Kitakami it is a good idea to know how to get Sinistea, Dipplin and The Loyal Three. Our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet walkthrough can take you through the main campaign, including The First Day of School, Victory Road, Starfall Street, Path of Legends, and, when you’re ready, The Way Home and the final boss. Elsewhere, we can help with the normal gym test secret item menu, version differences, the best scarlet and violet starter, XP farming, shiny Pokémon, and learning to fly, swim, climb, and run. When it comes to individual Pokémon, we can help with Gimmighoul, Ditto, Bellibolt, Pawmot, Scovillain, Frigibax, Brambleghast, Annihilape, Farigiraf, Dudunsparce, Lycanrock, Armarouge, and Ceruledge.
Bomber weaknesses
Bombirdier is a dark/flying type, meaning you’ll want to counterattack with electric, ice, rock, and fairy moves.
In our case, we quickly defeated Klawf with Pawmo’s super effective electric moves.
Once you’ve defeated this Pokémon Titan and obtained the Herba Mystica reward, our best Pokémon Titan order can recommend who to face next.
