What are the trendy Challengers in Pokémon Go?

Fashion Challengers are trainers you’ll battle as part of the Fashion Week timed research mission in Pokémon Go until Monday, October 3 at 8 pm (local time).

This is what your rewards section will look like if a Fashion Challenger is waiting for you.

Unlike past events, where challengers appeared at random PokéStops, this year’s Fashion Challengers appear as rewards for completing specific steps of the Fashion Week research mission.

You’ll know when a fashion challenger awaits you by the words ‘An opponent appears!’ will be located in the Rewards section for that step of the mission.

The battle follows the typical trainer battle formula, with the expectation that the Fashion Challengers will not use shields. Thanks to this, they are quite easy to beat if you have a strong enough team.

Upon defeat, you will receive a number of items from the Fashion Challenger, such as Poké Balls and Stardust, along with the reward you will receive for completing this quest step in the Fashion Week investigation.

After its defeat, you will not receive any Pokémon encounters as a reward. Instead, rewards take the form of stardust, Poké Balls, and other items, such as potions.

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! The Psychic Spectular event is back! You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

How to fight a fashion challenger in Pokémon Go

There are three Fashion Challengers that appear throughout the Fashion Week timed research mission in Pokémon Go.

As mentioned above, each Fashion Challenger is a reward for completing a specific step of the Fashion Week research mission; All you have to do is complete the tasks of that step and the battle will be available to you.

After unlocking the battle, you will be able to fight Fashion Challenger whenever you want! Just keep in mind that this research mission will no longer be available after Monday, October 3 at 8 pm (local time), so if you want to fight the Fashion Challengers, you must do so before this deadline.

When it comes to fighting Fashion Challengers, we recommend selecting three of your most powerful Pokémon to ensure you defeat the enemy Pokémon as quickly as possible. If you would like to learn more about the Fashion Challengers lineups, please visit the section below where we list the Challengers teams we have faced so far.

There’s also little need to stack up your charged moves when facing Fashion Challengers, because they won’t use their shields to block your attacks. This means that you don’t need to have a Pokémon that lowers its shields and can simply focus on using your most powerful attacks.

Finally, when it comes to your own shield, feel free to use it whenever you want, even if it’s just to save yourself from using a more powerful potion to heal a Pokémon after the battle. Since the Fashion Challenger won’t use his own shields, you can also make the battle even easier for yourself.

Fashion Challenger lineup list in Pokémon Go

Below you will find all the Fashion Challenger lineups for the Fashion Week 2022 event in Pokémon Go:

Extravagant challenger teams

First Pokémon Second Pokémon Third Pokémon
Furfrou Mareanie diglett

Since none of the Quirky Challengers Pokémon share a weakness, you’ll want to have a Pokémon that has a type advantage over each one. For Furfrou, this would be a fighting type, while Mareanie is weak to Electric, Ground, and Psychic-type Pokémon. Meanwhile, Diglett is weak against Grass, Water, and Ice types. However, if you have a powerful Pokémon like Mewtwo, you can easily select this Pokémon and watch it defeat all three without breaking a sweat.
