How to catch Spiritomb in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You can catch Spiritomb in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, adding the Forbidden Pokémon to your Pokédex.

And thanks to Arceus, because for once you don’t have to go out and do anything 108 times. That said, it’s not the easiest Pokémon to find, especially since the Pokédex doesn’t list locations, which is where we can help.

Here’s where to find a Spiritomb in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to find Spiritomb in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Clearly, Game Freak felt so bad about inventing a trip through Paldea in search of 999 Gimmighoul Coins that the idea of making us search for another 108 ghostly things sent a shiver down their collective spine.

As much as we love a good side quest, we’re glad we don’t have to do it again, after hunting down all 108 Wisps in Pokémon Legends: Arceus earlier this year.

Wild Spiritomb appears here at night, without having to do the usual work.

Excuses for including bad puns in guides aside, this is the easiest Spiritomb capture since its release in Gen 4. You simply need to go to the right place at night.

The problem is that Spiritomb is so elusive that not even the Pokédex will give you a location.

To find Spiritomb, fly to the highest peak of Paldea (or nearby Monerevera) and then glide northwest over the river to the spot below.

Spiritomb can be found here on the snowy cliff.

We have found a couple of Spiritomb in Paldea and they are always in the same place. Just head here at night and throw a fastball when you see it. If you’re worried about him running away or knocking him out, you can always turn off auto-save for this encounter (don’t forget to turn it back on).

Catching a rare Pokémon is always a high-pressure situation.

If you want to speed up the process, be sure to eat a sandwich that increases your rate of Ghost or Dark type encounters. Spiritomb is a rare spawn, so it is definitely recommended.
