Harry Potter Wizards Unite has launched its first limited-time event: Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna. This event will take place from July 3 to 10.
The Brilliant Event involves a series of Fantastic Flora and Fauna quest steps in which you can receive a variety of rewards.
This includes Foundables, Experience, and Restricted Section Books, which are vital for leveling up your chosen profession.
You can also collect Shiny Findables to complete the Shiny Forbidden Forest page in your Log.

Fantastic Flora and Fauna start time and how the Brilliant Event works in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna is the first limited event for Harry Potter Wizards Unite.
It will take place from July 3 to 10, with a start time of:
- UK: 6pm (BST)
- Europe: 7:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 1:00 p.m. EDT
- US West Coast: 10 am (PDT)
Once July 10 has passed, you will no longer be able to participate in the event or claim any rewards.
Throughout the event there will be a variety of activities to complete, including Special Assignments, 7km Shiny Portmanteaus to open, and Shiny Findables to be found.
Unlike Daily Assignments and SOS, these Special Assignments only appear during a Brilliant Event.
Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna Quest Steps Explained
There are four sets of special assignments specific to Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna. Each Special Assignment contains three different tasks.
Completing one task will give you one reward, while completing a set of special tasks will give you three. Remember: you must collect your rewards before the Brilliant Event ends on July 10. If you do not claim any reward, it will be lost forever.
Here are the four sets of special assignments and their rewards for Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna. Warning: There are spoilers below if you don’t want to know what each task entails before completing it.

- Return 2 Foundables from any Family (Reward: 2 Restricted Section Books)
- Unlock 1 Portkey (reward: 15 Shiny Family XP)
- Dine at inns 2 times (reward: 10 Shiny Family XP)
Rewards: 500 XP, 20 Shiny Family XP, 2 Restricted Section Books

- recover 2 Shiny Findables from Buckbeak (Reward: 300 XP)
- Perform 2 Grand Spellcasts (reward: 15 Shining Familiar XP)

Rewards: Recoverable Tree Stump, 25 Shiny Familiar XP, 3 Restricted Section Book

How to find Shiny Foundables in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Throughout Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna you will be able to add Brilliant Foundables to the Brilliant Forbidden Forest page in your Registry.
You can find this page by opening your Log and then tapping “Events,” which is located in the bottom right corner of the tab.
There are six Shiny Findables to collect in total. Below you’ll find a helpful chart covering all of the Shiny Findables in the Forbidden Forest, where to find them, and how many shards you need to complete them.

What are glowing footprints in Harry Potter Wizards Unite?
Bright trails only appear during a bright event. As with normal trails, selecting one will take you to a Foundable that needs to be freed from a Confoundable. Only these Foundables will be specific to the Brilliant Event.
Brilliant Traces are purple with an exclamation point and a ray of purple light running through them.

How to Find and Use Shining Runestones in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
As you collect Brilliant Findables and complete Special Assignments, your Brilliant Event Rating: Fantastic Flora and Fauna will increase. When you increase this ranking, you will receive shiny rune stones, which you can use in the magical challenges that can be found in the fortresses.
If you successfully complete a magical challenge while using a shiny runestone, you may be rewarded with a shiny recoverable shard.
What to do with restricted section books in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Restricted section books are books that can only be obtained during Brilliant Events. Like the scrolls and the red spellbook, they are used to level up your chosen profession and unlock new strategic spells.
You will only receive a certain number of books from the restricted section per Brilliant event, 15 per Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna, so make your decisions wisely.
Before you begin your magical adventure, you’ll want to join a Hogwarts House in Harry Potter Wizards Unite. After that, you’ll need to learn how to fight so you can compete in magical challenges in fortresses or how to use greenhouses so you can perform potion master notes. You can also unlock Portmanteaus Portkeys and choose a profession between Auror, Magizoologist or Professor. Don’t forget to participate in the monthly Community Day event either!
Other things to know about Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna:
- Be sure to save two or three silver keys for the 7km Portmanteaus Brilliant Portkey. This will save you a lot of time, especially if you want to complete the Bright Forbidden Forest Log page – you may not get a Snargaluff on your first try!
- If you can’t perform a great spellcast, try drinking a Spur Potion, as it will temporarily improve your spellcasting.
- Take the time to read what each strategic spell does before using those restricted section books; You can only use those precious tomes once.
