The IO Heist quest line is one of the first punch card quest lines released in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8.
During this quest line, you will help Charlotte (not me, the Fortnite character) steal the remains of the IO bases on the Fortnite map. To achieve this, you need to know where the IO guards are, so you can take care of them…
Completing this set of challenges will reward you with a total of 80,000 XP, helping you earn some Battle Stars and those first Season 8 Battle Pass skins.
Please note that this particular challenge can no longer be completed. What’s new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection, and Eren Jaeger skin. It’s a good idea to know how to get XP quickly in Fortnite.

IO Heist questline in Fortnite explained
To start the IO Heist quest line in Fortnite, you need to talk to Charlotte in the game. Fortunately, you can easily find her in Pleasant Park, next to the house in the southeast corner.
To accept her quest line, you must select the exclamation point when talking to her. After doing so, you will be able to complete their missions without having to leave the game and you will not lose any progress when you die.
Here you can find all the challenges, along with the amount of XP you will receive, in the IO Heist questline:
- Pick up an assault rifle and a grenade – 12k XP
- Reach maximum shields (1) – 14k XP
- Visit an IO Outpost or the IO Convoy (1) – 16k XP
- Eliminate IO guards (2) – 18k XP
- Search a chest at an IO Outpost or the IO Convoy (1) – 20k XP
Where are IO guards explained in Fortnite?
If you want to find two IO Guards in Fortnite, you need to visit one of the IO Outposts or IO Convoys. Fortunately, this is already part of the IO Heist questline, so you should see some guards upon your arrival.
We easily found two IO guards at the outpost near Pleasant Park and killing them and opening the chest inside the outpost allowed us to easily complete the IO Heist quest line.

It is important to remember, however, that if another player has already visited this location and killed the guards, they will not appear before you. If this happens, you will have to visit another base or try again in a new game.
