Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 introduces the new Chrome Splash item.
Not only can it be used to traverse the Fortnite map, but there is also an additional effect that allows you to traverse walls. This all ties into the chrome theme that is front and center for the new season.
You’ll want to know where to find Chrome Splash in Fortnite and how to use it to go through walls. This can be a great way to gain an advantage over your opponents, and various challenges can be completed using Chrome Splash in different ways. Fortnite Chrome Splash Locations
Chrome Splash can be found as ground loot in Fortnite. This means you can see it lying on the ground or in chests you open. Keep an eye out for chrome chests as well, as they are more likely to contain chrome items and weapons, such as EvoChrome weapons. Additionally, breaking walls and objects covered in Chrome will release Chrome Splash. You can see a screenshot of what Chrome Splash looks like below:
Please note that in the game, Chrome Splash will be a purple (epic) option. Look for bright spots of purple light to locate it!
How to use Chrome Splash
Chrome Splash works as a throwable item. Throw it next to you to paint yourself in chrome. You are now in the chrome state. Pressing the left stick will take you in and out of a chrome bubble (blobify and unblobify). While moving as a mass, you can travel much faster than on foot. The double tap jump will allow you to move forward, similar to how the zero point fish worked last season. You can also run with the left trigger. Fall damage is negated in this state, but keep in mind that being a chrome mass makes quite a bit of noise.
You can also apply Chrome to other players by splashing them with the item. Try to cast a Chrome Splash on a teammate to put them in chrome status. While chrome, your character will slowly regain health and fire damage will be negated while in mass form.

How to go through walls
Another interesting thing about Chrome Splash is that it can be used to move through walls. Simply throw one at the wall and you’ll see a strange chrome mass that you can move around on. You will then go through the wall to the other side. This can be a great way to escape attacks or flank enemies.
Some areas will already be covered in Chrome. You will be able to pass through walls here, without needing Chrome Splash.
