- For Career Mode, potential is also important: some players have more built-in growth potential than others, and if you plan to play at least two seasons in Career Mode, that will have a big impact on your team. - Think about your playing style when looking at stats: We touched on this briefly above, but certain defenders will perform better in certain situations. Jérôme Boateng is much more physical than Gerard Piqué, for example. Generally, with centre-backs you want to complement physicality with class (think Vidic and Ferdinand in their prime), while the attributes of full-backs will depend on whether you want them bombing forward and crossing, or sitting back and purely defending.
