Far Cry 5 Live Events – Pickup Blowup challenge and rewards explained, and how to start Live Events

Far Cry 5’s live events give you new challenges to aim for when you’re not fishing or marking the game’s numerous Prepper Stashes.

Live events give players a timed goal, and if individually and collectively as a community they surpass the goal in a week, they receive unique rewards.

In this page:

How do Far Cry 5 live events work and when do live events start?

When you’re ready to go, load your campaign save and hit the inventory button, which is where you can view the map, order perks, and other things.

Go through the tabs at the top with the side buttons, until you reach Online, which is the second from the end.

There you will see the Live Events tab. Log in and accept, then you will see the current Live Event and the requirements to complete it, the remaining time, as well as the Personal and Community Progress.

Each has two sets of rewards. Halfway through each, you’ll receive 50 Silver Ingots, a premium currency used to purchase items from the store, and completing them fully will earn you unique rewards specific to that event, which are usually new weapons or costumes to unlock.

Once you’ve unlocked these rewards, head to the Live Events section to collect them.

If you miss a week, don’t worry: Ubisoft will roll out all rewards to its store at a later date. But if you want early access, make sure you complete each challenge on time.

Far Cry 5 Live Event Reset Time

Each live event begins at the following times on a Tuesday and runs for one week:

  • UK: 5pm (BST)
  • Europe: 6:00 p.m. (CEST)
  • US East Coast: 12 pm (EDT)
  • US West Coast: 9am (PDT)

What to do if Far Cry 5 live events aren’t working

Live events can be a bit temperamental, so keep the following in mind:

  • Make sure your game is on the latest version and you are online before starting the game.
  • You must manually register for each live event before progress is counted.
  • For the first week, it took a little while for the Live Events area to “pop up” for us, displaying a blank screen when logged in from the Online menu. We’re not sure how it came to be online, but it’s worth checking from time to time until it does. Until then, there’s a chance your progress toward the live event won’t count.

If you see this, live events are not working. We recommend coming back later.

  • Although the game will track your progress as it happens, the Live Events page will not. As you can see on the right, there is a “Upcoming Update” notice. At launch, this was roughly every two minutes, so it’s worth waiting for the countdown to arrive before your progress is fully represented.

How to complete Pickup Blowup, Far Cry 5’s latest live event

Here are details on how to complete the latest live event, Pickup Blowup:

Duration: April 24 to May 1

Aim: “Destroy cult trucks with proximity explosives, remote explosives, dynamites, grenades or homemade bombs. Turn those 4x4s into 0x0s!”

Rewards: 1970 Kimberlite ZZT “The Cultbuster” vehicle (15 vehicles personally destroyed), Covert Cultist gear (when enough vehicles are destroyed as a community; varies across platforms)

This is a fairly simple challenge: you must locate the white trucks that the cultists drive around the open world in and throw one of the game’s many explosives at them (proximity explosives, remote explosives, dynamites, grenades or pipe bombs).

First, make sure you’re stocked up by visiting a supplier. However, you may first need the Black Market buff, found in the Survival tree for 6 buff points, to unlock many of the items listed.

When you’re ready, keep an eye out for some trucks. They are scattered around the world as you play, but the easiest way to check this challenge off the list is to raid an outpost and be discovered so that an alarm goes off. Doing so calls for reinforcements, which call these trucks into position.

However, if you’ve completed every outpost in the game and cleared the map of enemies, don’t worry: you can pause the game and select “Outpost Master” to reset each outpost and repopulate it with enemies. , which will allow the trucks to operate again. -appear.

In addition to Far Cry 5 animal locations, we take an in-depth look at how to fish and where to fish, as well as bass, trout, salmon, and sturgeon locations. What were the previous Far Cry 5 live events like?

Although the following has expired, to give you an idea of what Far Cry 5 live events are like, here’s everything that’s happened so far:

Well done

Duration: April 3 and 10

Aim: “Kill as many animals as you can with fire, but without using Molotovs or flamethrowers. Light them and be creative!”

Rewards: ‘Flamebearer’ flamethrower (20 animals killed personally), Flamebearer suit (250,000 animals killed as a community)

To complete this objective, you must kill enemies with fire, but without using conventional methods.

The easiest way to do this is by using fire arrows. To purchase them, you first need the Black Market buff, which is found in the Survivor tree for 6 buff points. Then visit a vendor and get it from Items. You should already have a bow; you just need to equip it.

The next thing you need is to find animals to hunt. Our animal locations page has locations for every type of animal. The easiest way to do this is simply while playing other activities, as you will find them naturally as you explore the countryside.

Note that it doesn’t appear that dogs, particularly those belonging to patrolling enemies, don’t count towards this challenge, so you’re only looking for wild creatures.

pickup explosion

Duration: April 10 and 17

Aim: “Endless maps, endless fun! Visit any arcade kiosk or open the online menu and check out the featured maps. Play time is in minutes!”

Rewards: Arcade-themed vector (40 minutes personally), arcade-themed outfit (3 million minutes as a community)

This week’s challenge is pretty simple: simply play Far Cry Arcade for a total of 40 minutes to unlock a themed weapon.

You can access Arcade mode from the online area of the game’s menu, the same place you can check the progress of your live event, as well as from Far Cry 5’s general main menu.

Although the quest objective says Featured Maps, our experience suggests that any part of Arcade counts. Our recommendation is not only the Featured section to see the best maps, but also check out Arcade Hero (right bumper tab in the general Arcade menu), which offers you a new random level and double the Arcade experience for being one of the best maps. first to try them. Who knows, maybe you’ll find something special.

It’s a great opportunity to explore the mode if you haven’t already, as there are some very creative (and crude but interesting) creations to be found, from original maps to remakes of familiar franchises:
