Far Cry 5’s live events give you new challenges to aim for when you’re not fishing or marking the game’s numerous Prepper Stashes.
Live events give players a timed goal, and if individually and collectively as a community they surpass the goal in a week, they receive unique rewards.

How do Far Cry 5 live events work and when do live events start?
When you’re ready to go, load your campaign save and hit the inventory button, which is where you can view the map, order perks, and other things.
Go through the tabs at the top with the side buttons, until you reach Online, which is the second from the end.
There you will see the Live Events tab. Log in and accept, then you will see the current Live Event and the requirements to complete it, the remaining time, as well as the Personal and Community Progress.
Each has two sets of rewards. Halfway through each, you’ll receive 50 Silver Ingots, a premium currency used to purchase items from the store, and completing them fully will earn you unique rewards specific to that event, which are usually new weapons or costumes to unlock.

Each live event begins at the following times on a Tuesday and runs for one week:
- UK: 5pm (BST)
- Europe: 6:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 12 pm (EDT)
- US West Coast: 9am (PDT)
What to do if Far Cry 5 live events aren’t working
Live events can be a bit temperamental, so keep the following in mind:
- Make sure your game is on the latest version and you are online before starting the game.
- You must manually register for each live event before progress is counted.
- For the first week, it took a little while for the Live Events area to “pop up” for us, displaying a blank screen when logged in from the Online menu. We’re not sure how it came to be online, but it’s worth checking from time to time until it does. Until then, there’s a chance your progress toward the live event won’t count.
If you see this, live events are not working. We recommend coming back later.
- Although the game will track your progress as it happens, the Live Events page will not. As you can see on the right, there is a “Upcoming Update” notice. At launch, this was roughly every two minutes, so it’s worth waiting for the countdown to arrive before your progress is fully represented.
How to complete Pickup Blowup, Far Cry 5’s latest live event

Duration: April 24 to May 1

This week’s challenge is pretty simple: simply play Far Cry Arcade for a total of 40 minutes to unlock a themed weapon.
You can access Arcade mode from the online area of the game’s menu, the same place you can check the progress of your live event, as well as from Far Cry 5’s general main menu.
Although the quest objective says Featured Maps, our experience suggests that any part of Arcade counts.
