Destiny 2 Silver Leaves farm recommendations, sources list and how to get Silver Ash explained

Destiny 2 Silver Blades are a resource introduced in Solstice 2022.

This can be obtained throughout the solar system, from match playlists to certain patrol activities.

With the Silver Leaves you have collected, you can transform them into Silver Ash to upgrade the Candescent Armor or to purchase new Eva Levante pieces for new stat roll attempts.

By learning how to grow silverleaf effectively, you can maximize the benefits of the event.

How to get Silver Blades and Silver Ashes in Destiny 2

Silver Leaves and Silver Ash are linked resources during the Solstice 2022 event, where you earn Silver Leaves by completing activities and then convert Silver Leaves into Silver Ash by completing the Bonfire Bash activity.

With the amount of Silver Ash transformed depending on your progress during a Bonfire Bash session (the more times the bonfire is lit, the more Silver Leaves are transformed), it pays to have as many Silver Leaves as possible to maximize your profits.

You will earn five Silver Ash for each Silver Leaf transformed. For example, if you light the bonfire 20 times (which is the maximum amount possible in a single session), you will transform 20 silver leaves, which will grant you 100 silver ashes.

So before starting a Bonfire Bash session, you need to find some silver leaves. Silver Blades are dropped by completing certain activities with Candescent Armor pieces equipped, from playlist activities to planetary events. These include:

  • Strike parties
  • Crucible matches
  • Gambit matches
  • Cutting-edge operations
  • Public events and patrol missions.
  • Nightfall Strikes (more to complete Grandmaster Nightfall)
  • Witch Queen Campaign Missions
  • Blind Well (Dreaming City public event)
  • Altar of Sorrow (lunar public event)
  • Challenges of eternity (30th anniversary activity)
  • Wellspring (The Witch Queen activity)
  • Serve quests (Season of the Charmed Quests)

The number of Silver Leaves you get varies depending on the type of activity: public events and patrol missions range between one and three Silver Leaves, basic playlist activities award around five Silver Leaves, missions Sever’s fall around seven and more challenging or longer activities are closer to 10.15.

At launch, several of these sources were buggy, including Patrols, Dares of Eternity, and Altar of Sorrow, but these have not been fixed as of the second week of the event.

The Season of the Depths is here along with the Into the Depths quest. You can also know how to go fishing! Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenge rotation schedule!

Silver Leaves Farm Recommendations in Destiny 2

During the second week of the event (starting the remainder of July 26), Bungie patched the previous fastest farming method, which involved completing the second quest of the Witch Queen campaign, The Investigation. This ‘cheese’ required another Fireteam member and several classes to be most effective, and if you were curious to see how it worked, there are details for Cheese Forever on YouTube:

Since that is no longer an option, what is the fastest now? If we weigh the previous Silver Leaves sources and the duration of each event, the best Silver Leaves farm seems to be Crucible matches and public heroic events.

If you visit The Gulch and Winding Cove regions of the EDZ, not only are these public Cabal events faster than most, but the groups of enemies that spawn make it easier to tick off any weapon-related challenges and rewards.

Meanwhile, in Crucible, Mayhem and Rumble matches in particular are the quickest ways to participate.

A note to the above is that the Solstice 2022 event challenges, which reward you with Kindling and event tickets, ask you to rotate between a variety of activities and destinations. So while the farm above is better if you want to get Silver Leaves quickly, if you want all the Kindling available then it’s worth going through each of them, meaning you check off both resources at the same time.

And, as with all farming methods, working on the activities you enjoy most is better than touring events just for the sake of it. Use the Kindling fonts above as an excuse to focus on what you love most!

Silver Leaves and Silver Ashes max caps

As with all resources in Destiny 2, there is a limit to how much you can have at any given time.

Silver Leaves and Silver Ash are no different – the caps are as follows:

  • Maximum limit of Silver Leaves: 100
  • Maximum silver ash limit: 500

You can see how many Silver Blades you have in your inventory screen, while the quantities of Silver Ash are displayed in the corresponding upgrade node for Candescent Armor.

Thanks to Testifye on reddit for confirming the above, which is based on API data.

This is particularly important since if you exceed the limit, you will no longer get those resources. For example, players on reddit are already discovering that the game will consume Silver Leaves even if you are at the Silver Ash limit.

If you are farming, there is a risk that you may reach these limits without realizing it, so be sure to use them regularly, ensuring that your hard work doesn’t go to waste.
