The PlayStation 4 Destiny 2 exclusive content was originally detailed at E3 2017 and includes several items of varying use to players.

Here on this page, we’ll detail everything you need to know about the PS4 exclusive content, including the Lake of Shadows raid, the City Apex ship, the Borealis weapon, the exclusive armor, and the Retribution map.

They’ll also be coming to non-PlayStation players (i.e. Xbox One and PC players) later on, so we’ll also detail everything we know about how it works below.

Please note that this page needs an update with the arrival of Destiny 2’s second year, so please note that some of the content may be out of date. In the meantime, read our Destiny 2 Forsaken guide and how to reach the new Destiny 2 level cap for an overview of what’s new and changed. Additionally, there is the return of the Thorn quest and the thorn ornament, Wishes of Sorrow and also our faithful friend Xur. Here’s the answer to where Xur is, Xur’s location, and what Xur is selling this week!

Destiny 2 exclusive content: details on Lake of Shadows, City Apex, Borealis, Retribution and more

PlayStation 4 Destiny 2 players will receive several exclusive in-game items, which come in the form of an exclusive attack, map, exotic weapon, ship skin, and exclusive armor for each of Destiny 2’s three classes. Here’s a quick trailer showing them, with details below:

Lake of Shadows Strike: A three-player attack, called Lake of Shadows. We don’t know much yet, other than that it’s set in Earth’s European dead zone and will be available at launch, like the Nightfall raid for all platforms. It’s described on the PlayStation Blog as “a cooperative strike set atop and within a broken dam in the European Dead Zone,” allowing you to “stop the tide of Taken flowing into the European Dead Zone from beneath the waves.”

How to unlock: This will be part of the Strike playlist along with other Strikes.

Retribution PvP Map – A 4v4 multiplayer map for Destiny 2 Crucible, set in the upper atmosphere of Mars.

How to unlock: This will be part of the Crucible playlist along with other Crucible maps.

City Apex Boat: A blue and white boat, to keep you nice and on brand.

How to unlock: Unknown: Probably a random drop next to other ships.

Terra Concord Armor: Special armor for the Titan class. Described as “Armor formed from the remains of the Golden Age orbital city Caer Lerion, which fell to Earth centuries ago in the Collapse.”

How to unlock: Unknown: Probably a random drop along with other armor.

Tesseract Trace IV: Special armor for the Warlock class. Described as “The arrival of the Traveler rewrote all the theories we used to have about the Universe and its ways.”

How to unlock: Unknown: Probably a random drop along with other armor.

Icarus Drifter: Special armor for the Hunter class. Described as “The Icarus Drifters are a group of elite Hunter space pilots famous for “surfing” solar flares.”

How to unlock: Unknown: Probably a random drop along with other armor.

Borealis Exotic Weapon – One of Destiny 2’s many Exotic weapons, the Borealis is a sniper rifle, and interestingly, it can switch between all three damage types (Solar, Void, and Arc) to keep you effective in almost any scenario. Nothing bad!

How to unlock: Unknown: Probably a random drop along with other exotic weapons.

The Season of the Depths is here along with the Into the Depths quest. You can also know how to go fishing! Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenge rotation schedule!

Destiny 2 PlayStation Exclusive Content Expiration Date: When does PS4 Destiny 2 content arrive on other platforms?

There is no definitive answer to the question of exactly when PlayStation Destiny 2 exclusive content will come to other platforms like Xbox One and PC, but there are some very solid hints we can go on.

To start, Destiny 2 director Luke Smith tweeted the following:

So we know it’s coming sometime in 2018, and there’s also the following fine print in PlayStation’s marketing material, like the trailer above, that says this:

Exclusive content scheduled through at least fall 2018.

So we also know that the 2018 date also means the end of 2018. Still, at least Xbox and PC players will get extra goodies at some point, just like they did with the first Destiny.
