More than a weapon in Destiny 2 is a mission that takes place during the Season of the Seraphim.
Each season, Destiny 2 has a story that is updated with new steps every week, requiring you to collect currency and season-specific activities to progress.
In Season of the Seraph, this involves finding Seraph Key Codes and Resonance Stems, which in turn will allow you to open Seraph Chests and acquire Override Frequencies.

How the More Than a Weapon quest works in Destiny 2
Before you can start More Than a Weapon, you need to do a few things first. When you load Destiny 2 for the first time during the Season of the Seraph, you will be dragged into the Hierarchy quest. Once this is done, visit Exo Frame in HELM and More Than a Weapon will begin.
Like most seasonal missions, More Than a Weapon will follow a similar pattern week after week. You’ll need to gather some resources, finish a heist battlefield, a weekly mission, and see some of the story content, with the occasional twist to keep things fresh.
More Than a Weapon has a total of 54 steps, and only a certain number of steps are released each week. You can play them as they are released or wait until later in the season to play them in bulk, whatever works for you!
Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Week 1 Mission (Steps 1-9)
First, complete the ‘Hierarchy’ quest and visit the Exo Frame in HELM to unlock the following:
1. Talk to Mara Sov in the HELM holoprojector.
2. Complete the Heist Battlefield: Luna.
3. Collect Seraph Keycodes (500 needed)
4. Spend Seraph Keycodes to unlock a Seraph Chest.
5. Complete the mission ‘Operation: Archimedes’.
6. Talk to Ana Bray in the HELM holoprojector.
7. Talk to Clovis in Exo Frame.
8. Listen to the message on the radio.
9. For now, both Clovis and Ana ask that you continue retrieving supplementary data from the submind while they search for another core to reintegrate into Rasputin’s engram.
Destiny 2 More than a Weapon Mission of the Week 2 (Steps 10-18)
Steps 19 to 25 are as follows:
10. Return to Clovis in the HELM Exo Frame.
11. Talk to Clovis in the Exo Frame in HELM
12. Complete the Heist Battlefield: Mars.
13. Collect key codes from Seraph.
14. Spend Seraph Keycodes to unlock a Seraph Chest.
15. Complete the mission ‘Operation: Diocles’.
16. Talk to Ana Bray in the HELM holoprojector.
17. Talk to Clovis in the Exo Frame in HELM
18. Although you have recovered the Malahayati and Charlemagne subminds, there is still much to do before Rasputin is completely restored. Clovis has tasked you with continuing to collect data from the submind while deciphering the launch codes you recovered from Twilight Gap.
Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Mission of Week 3 (Steps 19-25)
Steps 19 to 25 are as follows:
19. Talk to Clovis in the Exo Frame in HELM
20. Collect key codes from Seraph.
21. Spend Seraph Keycodes to unlock a Seraph Chest.
22. Talk to Elsie Bray in the HELM holoprojector.
23. Complete the exotic quest ‘Operation: Seraph’s Shield’ on any difficulty.
24. Talk to Clovis in the Exo Frame in HELM
25. With the virus successfully installed aboard the Seraph station, all that remains is to finish rebuilding Rasputin so he can hop onto the Warsat network. However, only supplementary submind data remains for reintegration into the engram. Dissatisfied with the current pace of progress, Clovis seeks a more convenient way to restore the Warmind.
Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Week 4 Mission (Steps 26-34)
Steps 26 to 34 are as follows:
26. Talk to Clovis in the Exo Frame in HELM
27. Collect key codes from Seraph.
28. Spend Seraph Keycodes to unlock a Seraph Chest.
29. Talk to Ana Bray in the HELM holoprojector.
30. Complete the mission ‘Operation: Son of Saturn’.
31. Return to Clovis in the Exo Frame in HELM
32. Talk to Ana Bray in the HELM holoprojector.
33. Talk to Rasuputin in the Exo Frame in HELM
34. Despite being restored to the point where he can communicate, Rasputin still lacks the code necessary to take control of the Warsats. He asks you to maintain your current course by retrieving data from the Heist Battlegrounds submind while he assesses his current capabilities.
Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Week 5 Mission (Steps 35-41)
Steps 35 to 41 are as follows:
35. Talk to Rasputin in the Exo Frame in HELM
36. Talk to Osiris in the HELM holoprojector.
37. Collect key codes from Seraph.
38. Spend Seraph Keycodes to unlock a Seraph Chest.
39. Talk to Elsie Bray in the HELM holoprojector.
40. Talk to Rasputin in the Exo Frame in HELM
41. As more submind data is reintegrated into Rasputin, he gets closer to regaining the ability to take control of the Warsats. Ana has been monitoring her code and believes progress continues at a steady pace. She encourages him to continue breaching the vaults and recovering more data.
Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Week 6 Mission (Steps 42-48)
Steps 42 to 48 are as follows:
42. Talk to Rasputin in the Exo Frame in HELM
43. Collect key codes from Seraphim.
44. Spend Seraph Keycodes to unlock a Seraph Chest.
45. Return to the HELM
46. Report to Zavala’s office for an emergency meeting with the vanguard.
47. Talk to Rasputin in the Exo Frame in HELM
48. The discovery of Mara has required a change in strategy. Now you must hold the line against the Wrathborn without using the power of the Warsats against them. However, you also cannot allow Eramis to gain control of the Warsats. He continues collecting data from the submind until Rasputin comes up with a new plan.
Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Week 7 Mission (Steps 49-54)
Steps 49 to 54 are as follows:
49. Talk to Rasputin in the HELM Exo Frame.
50. Talk to Ana in the Holoprojector.
51. Collect key codes from Seraph.
52. Open a seraphim chest.
53. Complete the mission “Operation: Sancus” in the Cosmodrome.
54. Talk to Rasputin in the HELM Exo Frame.

When does the More Than a Weapon quest expire?
Often, seasonal quests will last longer than the end of their particular season, but Season of the Seraph may be an exception due to the upcoming expansion.
Destiny 2: Lightfall will wipe the slate clean on the latest year of Destiny and bring with it a host of changes when it arrives on February 28. More than a weapon will be lost with the rest of the persistent quests, so if you want to experience that story, you better do it as soon as possible.
