Forbearance is a legendary grenade launcher in Destiny 2 and is part of the Vow of the Disciple raid weapon set.
This single-shot grenade launcher takes up your energy weapon slot, leaving you free to select any heavy weapon you like. The grenades emit a wave of damage when they detonate, making it one of the best player versus environment (PVE) grenade launchers in the game.

How to get tolerance in Destiny 2
Tolerance is a Disciple’s Vow weapon and can initially only be acquired through that raid.
Different parts of the raids have different loot pools. Forbearance is a possible (but not guaranteed) drop from the encounter with The Caretaker and the final boss fight against Rhulk.
Also, remember that Conquest Loot can be spent at the end of the Raid Chest to purchase any Raid Weapons you previously acquired.
Tolerance can also be worked out. You will need to acquire and complete the pattern extraction for five of this grenade launcher, but when you do you will be able to visit the Enclave and create a custom Tolerance. The first weapon you pull from the end-of-raid chest each week is a guaranteed Deepsight drop, making it an effective way to work towards a craftable Tolerance.

God of Tolerance roll recommendation in Destiny 2
Tolerance comes with the Souldrinker origin trait. This has a powerful effect; Hitting enemies before reloading heals you. More hits result in more healing. Any enemy caught in the grenade’s explosion radius contributes to this effect.
A perfect version, or ‘god roll’, understands that Forbearance is designed to melt large groups of enemies quickly. There is a specific group of advantages that work very well to accomplish that task.
Here’s our recommended God of Tolerance roll in Destiny 2:
- Fast food
- High speed rounds
- Ambitious killer
- Chain reaction
Normally we would recommend Volatile Launch for a grenade launcher that removes adds, but Tolerance already has the maximum explosion radius. Quick Throw’s increased speed will increase damage to targets you hit, and improved handling improves setup speed and makes aiming easier.
High-velocity rounds further increase direct hit damage and give a boost to reload speed. As this is a single-shot grenade launcher, every fraction of a second you save on reloads will have a direct impact on your ability to deal damage.
Ambitious Assassin overfills magazine based on kills before reloading. It effectively adds a second grenade to your magazine, doubling your ability to deal damage to enemies. This, combined with the aforementioned reload speed increase from high velocity rounds, is a powerful combination.
The benefit that really makes tolerance work is the chain reaction. With this equipped, kills cause a burst of arc energy. If those explosions kill an enemy, then there will be another explosion, and so on. This makes large mobs something to look forward to, as the entire group erupts in explosive arcs.
As usual, once you have your preferred roll, be sure to upgrade it to Masterwork to give it a stat boost, the ability to spawn orbs on multiple kills, and add the option for a kill tracker.
