Children’s Day 2022: Wishes, Greetings, Quotes, Slogans, WhatsApp Status & More

Children’s Day is celebrated across India to create awareness about children’s rights, education and welfare. It is celebrated on November 14 every year, on the birthday of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was known to like children. On this day, many educational and motivational programs are held for children across India.

History

Every year on November 14, people honor Jawaharlal Nehru, also known as “Chacha Nehru”, by celebrating the day. He was famous for his love for children and was born on November 14, 1889. He also founded the Children’s Film Society in 1955 to produce children’s films in their own cultures.

When Chacha Nehru passed away in 1964, the nation began celebrating his birthday as Children’s Day. Parliament passed a resolution to observe National Children’s Day on November 14 in his honor after considering his appeal to children.

But why is Children’s Day celebrated on November 14?

Meaning

In the words of the late Pt. Nehru: “The children of today will form the India of tomorrow. The way we educate them will determine the future of the country.”

Former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had a clear vision of what modern India should be and realized that the best way to understand his goals was to build strong foundations that would support the newly independent country into the future.

Chacha Nehru was an ardent supporter of children’s education and consistently maintained that the advancement of a newly independent nation depended on the well-being of its youth. He maintained that youth were the true strength of a country and the cornerstone of society.
