Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – unseal the well: How to unseal the well of Urdr and complete the Well-Travelled quest

Opening the Well is a key objective in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’s Asgard-based quest, Well-Travelled, and it’s a bit complicated on the surface.

The Well of Urdr, to give it its full name, is opened by lining up a series of light-reflecting devices, but there are few clues as to where to aim. With that in mind, here is a complete explanation of how to open the Well of Urdr in the quest Well Traveled.

A look at what’s coming after the release of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

How to access the mission Well Traveled in Asgard

Well-Travelled is a quest found during one of the main stories of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, specifically the one that takes place in Asgard.

To access it, you must have upgraded your Settlement to the third level, Hamlet, and then completed the short quest “Wise Friends” which welcomes the Seer to your settlement. You must then upgrade his building, complete another short quest for her called ‘In Dreams…’, then travel to Asgard in a vision and complete the first quest there, ‘See Over Everything’.

The second Asgard quest is this one, “Well Traveled.” Like everything in the Asgard area, it’s recommended to be at power level 90 or so, but in our experience it’s doable at a much lower level – we completed it without problems at about level 30, and there’s no combat in either. this mission.

You’ll be tasked with heading to the Well of Urdr, in the southwest of the map, navigating through its caves, and eventually solving the sealed well puzzle.

The new DLC is here and we explain how to start The Siege of Paris, as well as new romance options and Treasure Hoard locations. If you’re looking for endgame activities in the full game, we can explain how to get the Nodens Bow, Excalibur, Thor’s Gear, and other Valhalla armor sets, power level and how to get XP quickly, Order of the Ancients locations, and all the Assassins. How to open Urdr’s well in Assassin’s Creed: Vallhalla explained

To solve the puzzle in Well-Travelled, you must correctly align the light rays so that the two stone catchers around the well are hit by the rays.

Once you know what you’re doing, luckily it’s pretty simple. Here’s how to open the well:

  • First, go around the well on your right, counterclockwise, to the first pedestal you find there, from which a ray of light comes out. Turn it towards the entrance and you will see a stone hanging at the top of the entrance arch. Shine the beam at that point and the light will reflect it twice: once to the left toward a second pedestal, once to the right toward a third.
  • Those two pedestals then shoot their own beams directly at the walls, for now. It’s time for you to fix everything.

  • Second, head towards the pit ahead and move the receiver just to your left: a pillar with a glowing orb on top. You’ll see some footprints on the floor that it slides between, leading to a right-angled corner. We will use them as a reference.
  • Pull it towards you, counterclockwise, around the pit, to the corner of the tracks and a little beyond and around that corner.
  • The goal here is to shine the beam towards the orb of this pedestal from the left pedestal you just lit up, which will bounce off and hit the receiver on the other side of the pit.

  • Third, head towards the stone hanging above the entrance and use the pedestal to your left before you get there.
  • Turn it to aim your beam at the pedestal you just moved, next to the well.
  • The light should reflect off it and hit the receiver located directly in front of it, next to the well. This will probably take a little adjustment to get right as there are a few rocks in the way, but be patient, keep adjusting the two and it will soon work.

  • Fourth, from that higher pedestal, head around the outside of the chamber, clockwise, to the other one illuminated by the hanging stone.
  • Turn it left to another pedestal just ahead, until it lights up another beam.

  • Fifth, head to the pedestal you just turned on and turn the beam towards the second receiver next to the well. It’s a little hard to make out, but it’s right in front of one of the stones to the left of the well.

As soon as you turn on both stone receivers next to the well, a cutscene will trigger and the well will open. Good job!

To complete the quest itself, you must dive into the well when Tyr tells you to. Once you’ve submerged, head out and grab some water from the greenish podium on nearby dry land, watch the cutscene, then dive back into the water and swim through an underground tunnel.

There’s another chamber with a chest you can loot, then swim up and you’ll be all sorted, out in the open again. Well done.
