How the Blood from a Stone quest and hit Basim or take a breather works in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

After securing the alliance with East Anglia, Eivor heads to Oxenefordscire to meet with Sigurd and Basim.

There, Eivor learns that Sigurd is attempting to forge an alliance with Thegn Geadric to overthrow the new leader of Oxenefordscire, Lady Eadwyn.

Additionally, Sigurd seeks out a woman named Fulke who could help him discover his true destiny. Eivor agrees to help Geadric while Sigurd and Basim search for Fulke.

There is an optional quest (Chipping Away) that Eivor can complete that will break Lady Eadwyn’s control over Oxenefordscire, but Eivor can choose to immediately reunite with Sigurd and Basim. Together they assault Linforda to free the captured thegns (Brewing Rebellion).

Eivor wants to help Geadric, but Sigurd convinces him to help them rescue Fulke, who is held captive in a monastery in Saint Albanes Abby (Pilgrimage to St. Albanes).

After rescuing Fulke, she takes them to Evinghoul Tower, where she has hidden a Saga Stone (an ancient relic that Sigurd needs). When they arrive they find that the tower has been looted and the stone has been taken.

This leads to an immediate confrontation with Lady Eadwyn and her men. Not wanting to betray Geadric, Eivor incites a fight, consequently forcing Sigurd to reveal his entire plan.

How does hitting Basim affect or not in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

At this point, a couple of combinations can occur that will affect your loyalty to Sigurd in the long run.

Hitting both Basim and Sigurd will reduce your loyalty to Sigurd and affect the ending.

If you choose not to hit Basim or Sigurd, your loyalty will remain the same. Of course, hitting him can still keep your overall loyalty intact, depending on other actions in the game, so if you’ve been on his side so far, feel free to move on!
