During the Holy Day quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will find yourself fighting Goodwin.

At a certain point during this fight, you will have the option to kill or spare Goodwin’s life. Whichever option you choose will have a small effect on the story of Valhalla, but it won’t be as impressive as Sigurd’s decision to return to England or stay in Norway.

How to Holy Day quests and kill or spare Goodwin in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Now that Eivor is Jarl of Ravensthorpe, it’s time to confront King Aelfred. Guthrum has been at war with him for almost the entire game, and now Eivor plans to fight King Aelfred’s army across England.

In Werham, Guthrum and Aelfred are on tense terms. Things don’t go as planned and Eivor and his friends burn down the city (Kingdom’s End).

Eivor and Guthrum devise a plan to attack Aelfred when he least expects it, but first, Eivor must free the captured Danes Aelfred is holding at the Hamtun blockade.

Eivor calls all allies and takes them to Chepeham/Cippanhamm, where Aelfred takes part in the Holy Day (Holy Day) celebrations.

Unfortunately, it was all a ruse, and Eivor and the allies are attacked by Aelfred’s soldiers led by his sheriff, Goodwin. Soma, Hunwald and Hjorr are killed in the battle, but manage to capture Chepaham.

During the fight with Goodwin, Eivor has a choice:

  • I’ll kill you.
  • I can still use you.

It doesn’t matter which option Eivor chooses: Goodwin will either commit suicide or be killed by you.

Eivor speaks with Guthrum, who decides that he no longer wants to wage war with Aelfred. This ends the campaign against King Aelfred.
