Arunachal Pradesh State Day 2023: Earlier, in the British colonial era, it was known as the North East Frontier Agency and the area was part of Assam. In 1972, it became the Union Territory of India.

The capital of Arunachal Pradesh is Itanagar where the celebration will be held at IG Park. Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of the new Arunachal Pradesh Police headquarters. Amit Shah will also launch the Industrial Investment Policy 2020 and inaugurate the Joram Koloriang road built by the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

Arunachal Pradesh: History

On February 20, 1987, Arunachal Pradesh became a full-fledged State. It was known as North East Frontier Agency (NEFA) until 1972. On January 20, 1972, it gained the status of a Union Territory and was renamed Arunachal Pradesh.

On August 15, 1975, an elected Legislative Assembly was established and the first Council of Ministers assumed its functions. In February 1978 the first general elections for the Assembly were held. For proper administration, the State is divided into 16 districts. Itanagar in Papum Para district is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Let us tell you that the name Itanagar was kept in honor of Ita fort, which means brick fort and was built in the 14th century AD

Most of the population of Arunachal Pradesh mainly depends on agriculture i.e. cultivation of jhum. People are also encouraged to grow other cash crops such as potatoes and horticultural crops such as apples, oranges and pineapples.

In 1991, APMDTCL was created for conservation and exploration of vast minerals. Later, APMDTCL took over the Namchik-Namphuk coalfields. There are two Industrial Training Institutes in Roing and Daporijo to provide training to artisans in different trades.

It has 330 km of National Highway. The tourist places in Arunachal Pradesh are as follows: Tawang, Dirang, Bomdila, Tipi, Itanagar Malinithan, Likabali, Pasighat, Along, Tezu, Miao, Roing, Daporijo Namdapha, Bhismaknagar, Parashurarn Kund and Khonsa.
