Animal Crossing Kapp’n’s Boat Tours: Where to find Kapp’n’s Boat Tours, cost and island explained

Kapp’n has finally arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

Staying true to his seafaring roots, he will offer you a place on one of his Kapp’n’s Boat Tours, including sea shanties. For a small Nook Mile cost, of course!

Each Kapp’n Boat Tour will take you to a hidden island in the sea where you can find something that doesn’t grow on your island, among other surprises.

Location and cost of Kapp’n’s Boat Tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

If you want to take a boat tour with Kapp’n in New Horizons, you need to visit the small dock off the western or eastern coast of your island.

It is important to remember that this is not the pier connected to Dodo Airlines but rather it is where you can fish for fish such as Blue Marlin or Tuna.

Each trip with Kapp’n will cost you 1000 Nook Miles, but he will sing you a sailor song, making it worth the expense. However, Kapp’n will only let you surf with it once a day, so make sure you make the most of your trip.

However, before you sail off into the sunset, we recommend making sure you only have your tools in your inventory. This is because you might find some rare items on the island Kapp’n takes you to and it would be a shame to miss them because your pockets are full.

Once you’re on the boat, sit back and enjoy Kapp’n singing, and if you feel like it, press A to clap.

Remember: you can only access Kapp’n’s Boat Tours; You must first download the Ver.2.0 patch for New Horizons.

The Animal Crossing 2.0 and Happy Home Paradise update is here! We can help you with the new additions, including where to find Brewster, Gyroids, new villagers, ordinances, new fences, storage shed, new hairstyles, Froggy Chair, group stretches, and Kapp’n boat tours. Cooking can now be unlocked, so you need to know how to make flour and sugar, as well as how to grow carrots, potatoes and tomatoes. In the meantime, if you’re new to Animal Crossing, our New Horizons tips can help you with the basics. From the beginning, there are fish and insects to catch, flowers and fruits to grow. A long-term goal is to increase your Happy Home Academy score. Finally, you need tools like the new ladder and pole to fully explore.

Islands visited on Kapp’n’s Boat Tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

The islands that Kapp’n takes you to in New Horizons are selected randomly, meaning you’ll never know exactly where you’ll end up. However, the weather may change as you navigate (for example, it may start to rain or you may see cherry blossoms in the air) to give you a little hint of what you can find on the island.

Both the season and time of day can also be different from your main island: you can arrive on an island caught in a snowstorm at midnight or in the middle of summer. Either way, this is the perfect opportunity to look for bugs, fish, or seasonal items like snowflakes that you may need.

Who knows what kind of island you’ll end up on?

The island that Kapp’n docks on may also have a selection of flora, such as climbing vines, that are not native to your island. You might even find some flowers that you can’t currently grow on your island. It’s a good idea to grab some of these plants when you see them, so you can take them home!

On the beach you may find a bottle containing a DIY recipe or, if you have unlocked the kitchen, a cooking recipe. If the island you’re visiting has a seasonal climate, like cherry blossoms, the homemade recipe you find could be for one of the seasonal items, which is great if you missed one.

On these islands you will also find gyroid fragments and maybe even an adult gyroid, so if you see a dig spot, be sure to dig it up! You might even come across Brewster Gyroid hunting on one of these islands.

You can dig up both gyroid fragments and fully formed gyroids!

When you’re on the island, Kapp’n will act like Wilbur when you’re doing a mystery tour: he’ll offer to sell you tools if you need them, and when you’re ready, he’ll take you back to your island. There will also be a DIY workbench on each island, so you can create your own tools if you prefer.

Finally, traveling with Kapp’n will unlock a new card in your Nook Miles+ app: Set Sail for Adventure. This will track how many times you’ve sailed with Kapp’n and reward you with extra Nook Miles when you’ve visited a certain number of islands.

Have fun exploring the ocean with Kapp’n!
