Where is the pier and how can you catch a giant trevally there?
Like the Tuna and Blue Marlin before it, the Giant Trevally can only be caught off the New Horizons dock. This is not the pier where your island’s airport is located, but rather the small pier that is located on one of the beaches.
To make catching a giant trevally a little easier, be sure to only fish it at the end of the pier. This will ensure that you don’t just catch the fish that can be found along the coast.

However, before you start hunting for giant trevally, you will need to prepare plenty of fish bait. A huge amount of fish bait.
To make fish bait you need a manila clam, which can be found by digging water-spewing patches of sand on the beach. When it comes to catching a giant trevally, you will need at least 50 bags of fish bait and you will probably have to make a few more after using them as well.
We recommend that you make a fish bait and try to catch a giant trevally in short sessions, rather than spending an entire day trying to catch one. This way you will prevent fishing from becoming boring and, if you continue, you will end up having a Giant Trevally for your museum.
The giant trevally can only be found in the waters surrounding the island between the months of May to October and can be caught at any time of the day.
Catching a giant trevally, like a blue marlin or a golden trout, depends on a mix of luck and stamina. (We’re not kidding about the fish bait.)
