Underneath Hyrule Castle in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Our adventure in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom begins in the depths of Hyrule Castle. All you have to do for now is follow Zelda, talk to her from time to time, and examine what you find under the castle.

Finally, after walking down a short hallway that contains some statues, you will be attacked by Keese. Upon defeating him, a cutscene will play, and once it’s over, you’ll head through the hallway that contains the red smoke. (I’m sure nothing will go wrong).

Upon awakening, take the deteriorated master sword and, although it is not in ideal condition, use it to cut the vines hanging over the door. Once you’re in the next room, she interacts with the glowing green circle decorated with a hand symbol.

Once this is done, go through the newly opened doors and continue down the tunnel, diving into the water and scaling walls as you go, until you find a chest containing the Archaic Leggings. You should probably put this on so Link has some sort of armor, but you do.

After this, go through the door leading to the outside world and dive into the Great Sky Island.

Great Sky Island and how to get the Purah Pad in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Welcome to Great Sky Island, the starting area for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! Your first destination is the Temple of Time and, while traveling there, we recommend collecting tree branches and food that you see, as they will be very useful.

After landing in the lily pad covered pond, swim to shore and head downstairs. Continue following the path and you will quickly come across a Zonai soldier construct that you can defeat. Once dispatched, you can easily reach the small stone structure and collect the wooden stick, a weapon stronger than your tree branches, inside.

Then, continue following the path until you reach a friendly Steward Construct who will give you the Purah Pad: the Tears of the Kingdom version of the Shiekah Slate.

How to start the Closed Door main quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Now that you have the Purah Pad, it’s time to visit the Temple of Time in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

However, you must first interact with another green circle to the right of the Steward Construct to activate a bridge that you can cross. After crossing, follow the path to a platform that overlooks a pond that you can dip into.

You’ve now reached one of the largest parts of Great Sky Island, and while this tour focuses on the most direct route to the Temple of Time, you can always take a different trip if you’d rather explore.

We arrived at the Temple of Time, leaving the pond between the two stone supports and following the path that begins at its feet, destroying any Soldier Constructs we found, until we reached the steps that lead to the temple.
