World Press Freedom Day 2023 will be celebrated with the theme “Shaping a future of rights: freedom of expression as a driver of all other human rights”. The day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993 following a recommendation adopted at the 26th session of the General Conference of UNESCO in 1991. This year’s theme is “Journalism under digital siege.”
