Finding the cash register key in Disney Dreamlight Valley is one of the many steps you must take to complete the Meddling Mirabel quest. Mirabel meant well when she tried to diffuse an argument between Donald and Scrooge, but things went wrong and now it’s up to you to fix it.

How to start the Meddling Mirabel quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The quest ‘Nosey Mirabel’ can be accessed as soon as you reach friendship level seven with Mirabel. As soon as you reach this level, you will see a purple icon appear above Mirabel’s head.
When you are ready to start the mission, approach her and start talking to her. She will then reveal that her well-intentioned intervention between Scrooge and Donald went very wrong.
Mirabel really meant well.
Then, she will ask you to talk to both of them. Scrooge will say that a raccoon ran away with his key after Donald fell into the river, and Donald will tell you a more embellished version of the story.
You will then be tasked with finding Scrooge’s key and feeding some raccoons, since Donald’s screams scared them away.
Where to find the cash register key
The key to the cash register in Disney Dreamlight Valley can be found in the Forest of Valor.
Have your shovel ready, the raccoons have indeed buried their key. It will be fairly easy to spot as the key will stick out of the ground and shine towards you.
Keep your eyes on the ground.
Once you find it, mine it like you would any other material and collect it.
Feeding the raccoons
Since you are already in the Forest of Valor, you can collect some blueberries from the bushes scattered around the area. These are raccoons’ favorite berries, although they also like raspberries.

When a raccoon sees you, don’t approach it until it has crouched down. If he is upright on his hind legs (kind of like a meerkat), don’t approach him. If you do, you will scare him and you will have to start approaching him again.
His name now is ‘Rusty’. Fit for a raccoon, huh?
Gradually approach the raccoon until it sits in front of you. When he does, press the indicated control to get closer to him and then select your chosen berry from his backpack to feed it.
You must do this twice with different raccoons. You can’t feed the same one twice.

How to Find Scallops and Clams at Disney Dreamlight Valley
After returning the key to Scrooge and talking to Mirabel, he gets another idea. This means you need to make a frame and bake a specific recipe, although the frame may require a little work.
To make the frame you will need to have:
- x8 Glass (x5 Sand and x1 Coal)
- x10 Softwood (everywhere)
- x5 Clams (Dazzle Beach)
- x5 Scallops (Dazzling Beach)
Scallops and clams can be found at Dazzle Beach. We found all of our clams and scallops close to shore on both sections of Dazzle Beach, although most spawned near Donald’s house.
Scallops are blue, clams are pink.
Only a few scallops and clams will appear at a time, so if you’ve collected them all and don’t have enough, leave the area and then come back to make them respawn.
Softwood can be found in most areas of the map, although the easiest places to find are Plaza and Peaceful Meadow.
You must craft glass at a crafting bench using x5 sand and x1 charcoal.
Create the framework
Once you have all the materials, head to a crafting bench to make the frame.
The frame crafting option will appear in the “Furniture” tab at the top of the crafting bench menu. If you’re not sure, there should also be a small photo of Mirabel in the corner of the frame option.
Kind of like digging the seashells into the frame…
How to make berry pie at Disney Dreamlight Valley
Now that you’ve made the frame, all you need to do is bake the cake!
The recipe for the Red Fruit Tart is as follows:
- x1 Raspberry (can be obtained from the bushes in the Plaza and the Pacific Meadow)
- x1 Butter (can be purchased at Chez Remy)
- x1 Wheat (seeds and product can be purchased from Goofy in Peaceful Meadow)
When you have the ingredients, go to any stove in the game and make the cake. It is important to note that although apples are red, they cannot be used for this recipe, they have to be raspberries.
