This has been a result of him urging his fans not to use or search for his deadname in the comments section.
The story began when the comedian posted a video on TikTok @sunnlylcomedy, raising the controversial deadname issue.
The title of the transgender comedian’s video expressed his sincere request:
“PLEASE don’t try to find my dead name! Don’t make me regret posting this!!!”

Deadnaming is known as the act of referring to any person, whether intentionally or unintentionally, by their former name.
When a person transitions, they prefer to change their name to a name that makes them feel comfortable and connected to their identity.
Naming a gender becomes a big deal as it represents that you don’t respect them or their identity enough.
The deadname controversy
It all started when Laprade posted a video on TikTok on the morning of Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Laprade stated that someone jokingly or accidentally guessed his deadname in the comments section of TikTok.
He further said that whenever he mentioned his deadname, people filled the comments section with guesses of quirky and unconventional names to sound funny.
The comedian also said that a user accidentally guessed his deadname.
Laprade stated in the final note of the video that it is quite easy to find his deadname and joked:
“So if you feel the need to try to guess my deadname as a joke in my TikTok comments, WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO, but if you must, if you absolutely must, at least Google it to make sure. You don’t do it! well accidentally!”
The comedian’s video has already obtained 850,000 views.
After posting the video, the comedian used her Twitter account, @sunnylcomedy, to show disappointment with her viewers, saying
