The first T20 international match was played between two arch-rivals New Zealand and Australia on 17 February 2005. India won the inaugural T20I World Cup and arch-rivals Pakistan finished as runners-up.

If a player scores 100 runs in a single innings, it is known as a century in a cricket match. Scoring a century in T20Is is too difficult due to the limited overs format.

IPL 2023, the 16th edition of the successful league, is currently underway. During the recent match between two of the best teams in the league, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer made a staggering 158 runs off 73 balls. With this century, Iyer has become the second player after Brendon McCullum to score a century for KKR in IPL history.
