June Holidays 2023: RBI has released the complete list of holidays for the month of June. This month there are only a few holidays like Eid-ul-Zuha, Eid-ul-Adha, Ratha Yatra, etc., apart from the second and fourth Saturdays. However, not all public and private sector banks will be closed on those days.
About June
June is the sixth month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and is the second of four months that have a duration of 30 days, and the third of five months that have a duration of less than 31 days. The first is that the month is named after the Roman goddess Juno, goddess of marriage and wife of the supreme deity Jupiter. It contains the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, the day with the most hours of daylight, and the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere, the day with the fewest hours of daylight.

As per Reserve Bank of India rules, all Indian banks must be closed on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, in addition to all Sundays. However, the first, third and fifth Saturday of each month will continue to be active as normal.
Major holidays for June 2023
YMA Day
Every year on June 15, the Indian state of Mizoram celebrates YMA Day. It honors the founding and formation of the Mizo Youth Association, India’s largest non-profit group serving the Mizo people. Since this day is a federal holiday, no academic institutions, commercial businesses, or government offices are open.
Raja Sankranti
Raja Sankranti is a three-day state government holiday celebrated in Odisha, eastern India. The first day of the festival of womanhood is known as “Pahili Raja”, the second day is known as “Mithuna Sankranti” and the third day is known as “Bhudaaha” or “Basi Raja”.
Bakri Eid/Eid-ul-Zuha
Eid al-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice is one of the two main festivals celebrated in Islam. People wear new clothes, offer Eid-Al-Adha prayers in the mosque and greet each other, exchange Bakrid wishes and organize mega parties for friends and family.
Rena Ni
Every year on June 30, the state of Mizoram celebrates Remna Ni as a regional holiday. It commemorates the historic Mizo Peace Agreement, which was signed in 1986 and brought peace to the area.
However, customers do not have to worry about financial transactions or any other banking services, even on holidays. All bank related services during June 2023 holidays can be easily accessed through IMPS, NEFT, UPI, ATM services, net banking, mobile banking and other available modes.
