Undertale Trophies list: Dog Shrine location and donations explained to unlock the Platinum Trophy

Undertale’s trophies are unique and surprisingly simple, and should be easily achievable for most people who play the game.

While most of the trophies are story-related and will unlock regardless of which Undertale ending you’re going for, a surprising number are related to a Dog Sanctuary, recently added to the PlayStation versions.

If you’re interested in getting help elsewhere, our Undertale walkthrough and Pacifist guide can help you save everyone in the main quest, unless you want to play the game as evil as possible with a Genocide run.

5 secrets hidden in Undertale’s music

Undertale Trophy List

There are, broadly speaking, three types of Trophies.

History-related trophies

Most of Undertale’s trophies are story-related and will unlock naturally as you progress through the game. Although the game is fairly linear in its main route, there are several endings and story variations that you’ll discover, but no matter what choices you make, these will unlock anyway, which is nice not to worry about.

That said, if you’re after the Platinum, you must not perform a Genocide run, or access to the Dog Sanctuary (see bottom of this page) will not be available.

  • Ruins (Enter the Ruins.)
  • Mouse (reach the mouse hole in the Ruins).
  • Exodus (arrival at Snowdin).
  • Mana (reach the Spaghetti save point in Snowdin).
  • Midpoint (arrival at the waterfall).
  • Rain (Get to the place where it rains).
  • Final section (Enter Hotlands.)
  • Final section II (Enter Hotlands 2F.)
  • Final section III (Enter Hotlands 3F.)
  • Good luck (make it to the second save point in The Core).

Item-related trophies

Among the first trophies you’ll unlock is for collecting items: four to be exact, one for each additional item you collect. Naturally, you’ll collect them as you play and unlock the trophies above.

  • Don’t worry, I have plenty of ideas for trophies (get an article).
  • How to get items (get two items).
  • Or get more items (get three items).
  • Help me, I’m out of ideas (get four articles).

Once you have done this, and the following Dog Sanctuary Trophies, you will unlock the Platinum Trophy.

Playing Undertale? Our complete Undertale walkthrough and Pacifist guide will explain how to finish the game without affecting everyone, covering all areas including Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotlands and The Core, and more. You can also learn how to unlock every Undertale ending and all Undertale trophies, access Hard Mode, and play as evil as possible with a Genocide run.

Dog Shrine donations to unlock the Platinum Trophy

The vast majority of trophies, however, involve 15 ‘Dognation Levels’, which involve you donating increasing amounts of Gold (or G) to a Dog Sanctuary, something recently added to the PS4 and Vita version.

The Dog Sanctuary is located in Papyrus’s house, in the back of the kitchen. Make sure you spare him during the story (which means you shouldn’t play as part of a Genocide run) and enter. Occasionally “updates” the Dog Sanctuary without items. We won’t reveal the details, but if you want to see how it works, check out the following video from Tealgamemaster:

These are the Trophies with full donated amounts:

  • Dognation Level 1 (Donate 2G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 2 (Donate 6G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 3 (Donate 12G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 4 (Donate 20G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 5 (Donate 30G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 6 (Donate 43G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 7 (Donate 59G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 8 (Donate 78G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 9 (Donate 100G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 10 (Donate 125G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 11 (Donate 155G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 12 (Donate 190G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 13 (Donate 230G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 14 (Donate 280G to the Dog Sanctuary).
  • Dognation Level 15 (Donate 350G to the Dog Sanctuary).

You need a total of 350G to unlock all 15 trophies (eight of which are bronze, four silver and three gold) and, as with other PlayStation trophies, all of them are required before you can unlock a platinum.

That’s 350 donations, which, depending on the game, will take some time. Maybe one to improve with a podcast, or while traveling with the Vita, eh?
