Rugby League Awards Night Venues 2023
The 2023 Rugby League Awards will be held at The Point, Old Trafford, Emirates Stadium. Today is Tuesday, October 10, the start of a big week for rugby league, with three grand finals taking place this weekend.
The Betfred Premier League Championship will be played at Old Trafford on Saturday 14th October. There is also a double-header on Sunday 15th October, including the Betfred Championship Final and the Betfred Wheelchair Premier League Final. The awards recognize outstanding players, coaches and contributions to rugby league.
betfred premier league
The Betfred Premier League is the highest level of rugby league in the UK. It consists of twelve teams, eleven of which are based in the north of England and one in the south of France. This league started in 1996, replacing the First Division and changing from winter to summer. The regular season runs from February to September, with each team playing 27 games.
The top six teams will participate in the playoffs and advance to the finals to determine the champion, while the lowest-ranked team will be relegated to the Champions League. The Super League champions will also face the Australian National Rugby League champions in the World Club Challenge. Over the years, 24 teams have taken part in the competition, with St Helens, Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and Bradford Bulls being the highest title holders.
RFL Wheelchair Premier League
The RFL Wheelchair Premier League is the premier wheelchair rugby league competition in England and Wales. It was established in 2019 to formalize wheelchair racing already taking place in the UK.
It consists of six teams and operates a promotion and relegation system alongside the second tier RFL Wheelchair Championship. The most recent champions are the Halifax Panthers, who have won the title twice. The league is an important platform for wheelchair rugby leagues in the region, providing competitive opportunities for players and teams.
