Rocket Straight to Victory quest steps: How to get Victini and Shadow Mewtwo in Pokémon Go

Rocket Straight to Victory is the special research questline launched on the second day, Sunday, July 26, of Go Fest 2020 for Pokémon Go, which, if completed, grants you the opportunity to catch the mythical Victini.

While the initial release of Victini is part of the Go Fest 2020 celebrations, meaning you must purchase a Go Fest 2020 ticket to unlock this special research, it will eventually be available to all Pokémon Go trainers via a new special investigation mission.

This previously occurred with Celebi and Jirachi, which retrospectively debuted at the 2018 and 2019 Go Fests before being released to Pokémon Go’s core audience.

How Rocket Straight to Victory works during day 2 of Pokémon Go Fest

Rocket Straight to Victory is the Special Research quest line released on Day 2, Sunday, July 26, of Go Fest 2020. Completing this story will allow you to catch the Mythical Pokémon Victini.

However, if you wish to complete this special investigation, you must first purchase a ticket to Go Fest 2020.

Victini.

Once you’ve purchased your ticket, you should make sure to play Pokémon on Sunday, July 26 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. (local time). Doing so will automatically unlock Rocket Direct to Victory, allowing you to begin tackling the challenges.

If you don’t purchase a Go Fest 2020 ticket or, if you already have one, don’t play Pokémon Go on Sunday, July 26, you won’t be able to unlock Rocket Direct to Victory.

There is no time limit on completing Rocket Straight to Victory once you’ve unlocked it, so feel free to take your time completing the Special Research questline if you wish.

Apart from this Rocket Straight to Victory works like the other special research questlines that allow you to unlock mythical Pokémon, such as Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi.

The quest line is divided into several steps, each of which contains three individual challenges that you must complete. Every time you complete a challenge or a step in the quest, you will be rewarded.

Everything you need to know about Victini

Victini/

Victini is a fire and psychic type Pokémon, which made its first appearance in Pokémon Black and White. Like most Mythical Pokémon, this appearance was made through a limited-time event that, in the case of Victini, required the player to possess the Liberty Pass to unlock it.

Victini is the Victory Pokémon and it is believed, according to its entry in the Pokémon Black Pokédex, that “trainers with Victini always win, regardless of the type of encounter.”

This connection between Victini and the concept of victory deepens when noting not only how similar the two words are, but also how Victini is similar to the name Victoria, which was the name given to the Roman goddess of victory.

Aside from his name, Victini’s design also has Roman connotations, as his ears are shaped like a V, which, in addition to being the first letter of victory, is the Roman numeral for five. Since Vicitini is part of Gen 5, it is very likely that this design decision was made to reflect that fact.

Victini also occupies a unique position in both Unova and the National Pokédex.

In the Unova Pokédex, Victini is listed as 000; Not only does this make Victini the only Pokémon to be listed above the starter Pokémon in a regional Pokédex, but it also makes it the only Pokémon to have this number in any Pokédex. Because of this positioning, it means that Victini is the Mythical Pokémon that will appear alongside another Mythical Pokémon from a past generation in the National Pokédex.
