Hisuian regional forms in Pokémon Legends: Arceus explained

Hisuian regional forms are the new type of Pokémon variant coming to Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Like previous regional Pokémon from the Galar and Alola regions, Hisuian variants differ in both appearance and type from their original counterparts.

Currently, six regional forms of Hisiaun have been announced: Hisuian Growlithe, Voltorb, Zorua, Zoroak, and Braviary.

Hisuian Growlithe is a fire and rock type Pokémon and is categorized as a Scout Pokémon. This new shape is inspired by Chinese guardian lions, also called foo dogs, and its fur resembles some of the design commonly used on statues.

Hisuian Growlithe are described as working together in pairs, another nod to the inspiration of the Chinese guardian lion, and due to the lack of human contact, it takes time to gain their trust. Each Hisuian Growlithe also has a stone horn atop its head, which, since it breaks easily, are very protective.

Hisuian Growlithe debuted in the Pokémon Legends: Arecus trailer, revealed during Pokémon Presents on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Hisuian Voltorb was revealed on Thursday, December 9, and unlike the Gen 1 variant, it is an Electric and Grass-type Pokémon.

Hisuian Voltorb, according to its Poké Ball design, resembles the wooden Poké Balls used in the Hisui region during the time Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set. It even has a small hole in its head from which seeds sprout!

While these Pokémon are friendly towards humans, they can also be quite annoying thanks to their habit of discharging electricity stored within their bodies. This has led people to have the habit of covering the hole in their head and then carrying the Hisuain Voltorb out of their settlement.

Hisuian Zorua and Zoroak were teased on Monday, October 19 via found VHS footage of an explorer venturing through a snowy landscape. At the end of the footage, the explorer could be heard describing a new Pokémon they had discovered, but the quality of the footage had degraded to such a point that we couldn’t tell what Pokémon it was.

A restored version of the footage was released three days later, and at the end of the video, Hisuian Zorua and Zoroak can be clearly seen.

Hisuian Zorua is a native of Zorua who migrated to the Hisui region after being driven from his home, but, unable to survive the colder climate, everyone died and the remaining soul turned into ghost-type Pokémon. They gain strength by disguising themselves as exact copies of any human or Pokémon they encounter and feeding off the subject’s terror.

These illusions become more powerful when the Hisuian Zorua evolves into Zoroak, and this Pokémon expresses the hatred and malice it has toward the world through them. Zoroaks, however, are very protective of any Hisuian Zorua and can, with a lot of work, trust a human. If it doesn’t drive you crazy first.

Hisuian Braviary is a psychic and flying type Pokémon, which evolves from Rufflet and is categorized as a Battle Cry Pokémon.

When winter comes, this Pokémon flies to the far north and its psychic powers manifest through powerful shock waves. It is also believed that you can use this psychic power to unlock a sixth sense and, in doing so, enter a trance to enhance your physical abilities.

Throughout Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will be able to use Hisuian Braviary to fly around the Hisui region. From this point of view, you may even spot new Pokémon and items during your surveys.

Hisuian Braviary debuted in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer released during Pokémon Presents on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

New Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus explained

Currently, we know three new Pokémon that will make their debut in Pokémon Legends: Arceus: Wyrdeer, Basculegion and Kleavor.

Wyrdeer evolved from Stantler in the Hisui region and is a Normal and Psychic-type Pokémon classified as a Big Horn Pokémon. It uses the black orbs on its antlers to generate psychic energy so powerful it can distort space. These antlers also allow him to search for safe areas, so he can guide a herd of Stantlers.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you’ll be able to ride Wyrdeer through the Hisui region, and by running forward you’ll be able to jump over a series of obstacles.

Wyrdeer was first revealed during the trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which debuted during Pokémon Presents on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Basculegion is the evolved form of Basculin found in the Hisui region. The tales say that Basculegion is possessed by the souls of all the Basculin who die during the journey upriver, which is in keeping with its typology of water and ghost.

These souls also grant Basculegion the ability to swim continuously without ever tiring, almost as if they hope to finally complete their journey through this new body.

By setting up a Basculegion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will be able to explore the canals that exist in and around the Hisui region. This Pokémon can even jump over obstacles that may get in your way.

Basculegion was originally revealed during the trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which debuted on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 during Pokémon Presents.

Kleavor is a bug and rock type Pokémon and is what happens to Scythers in the Hisui region when they come into contact with certain minerals.

This Pokémon is known for its powerful axe-like arms, which it can use to cut down trees or defeat any opponent that dares to cross its path. Parts of Kleavor’s stone body may fall off while he fights, but this only serves to make the Pokémon even stronger.

Kleavor was revealed during the Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer released on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

We also got our first look at Pokémon Noble during this trailer, with Kleavor being the standout. While we don’t know much about Noble Pokémon at the moment, we do know that something is causing them to go berserk.

During this state, their bodies glow brightly and attack mercilessly. The only way to defeat them is to apply balms made from their favorite foods to their bodies.
