Pokémon Go Season of Alola end date and everything you need to know

Alola Season is the sixth season of the Pokémon Go game and features the long-awaited Gen 7.

While the game has introduced forms of Alola in the past, last year Pokémon Go took the unusual step of skipping Gen 7 to focus on Gen 8 first, so it’s nice to see the Alola region finally become the focus of attention.

When it launches, based on previous seasons, you can also expect to find different Pokémon appearing in the wild depending on which hemisphere you live in, as well as new creatures in Eggs and Raids.

What are seasons in Pokémon Go?

First introduced in December 2020, Seasons are three-month-long periods of the game that tie together various events into a theme and add a host of new features and quality of life changes.

This includes:

  • Changes to the way Pokémon appear from season to season, which may cause some creatures to appear more regularly or become rarer in the wild for limited periods of time.
  • Changes to egg pools and raids.
  • Spawning specific to the northern and southern hemispheres, coinciding with real-world seasons.
  • Highlights specific Mega Evolutions, giving them a power boost throughout the season.
  • Deerling Form Changes
  • A new season of Go Battle League, which will have the same duration as these seasons.
  • XP boosts for completing specific activities, like five-star raids, for example.
  • Introduce other general improvements in the quality of life.
  • A variety of events in the game.
  • New Pokémon
