Pokémon Go Gen 6 Pokémon list released so far, and every creature from X and Y’s Kalos region listed

Gen 6 promises to bring a total of 72 new Pokemon for you to catch in Pokemon Go.

This is by far the smallest Pokémon generation added to Pokémon Go; Gen 2 brought 100 new Pokémon, Gen 3 introduced 130, Gen 4 offers 107 Pokémon, and Gen 5 has the most new Pokémon with 156.

Gen 6 was introduced alongside the release of Pokémon X and Y, which is the sixth installment, excluding remakes and special editions, of the main Pokémon series. Like Generation 5, this generation focuses on original creatures, meaning there are no new baby Pokémon or new evolutions for previous generations.

What we know about Gen 6 Pokémon

Originating from the Kalos region, which takes inspiration from northern France, Gen 6 introduces 72 new Pokémon. This includes a collection of new legendaries, the traditional three starter Pokémon (grass, water, and fire), and Klefki, the key sentient Pokémon, because why not?

Here are some interesting facts about how Gen 6 makes itself unique among the multiple generations of Pokémon:

sylveon.

  • Generation Six saw the introduction of the Fairy-type, which was the first new Pokémon type introduced since Dark and Steel-type Pokémon were introduced in Gold and Silver. Not only were pure Fairy-type Pokémon introduced, such as Spritzee, but older Pokémon, such as Marill and Jigglypuff, were converted to dual-types to increase the range of Fairy-type Pokémon available.
  • Sylveon, the eighth evolution of Eevee, was introduced as part of Gen 6. To obtain it in the main series, Eevee must know at least one fairy-type move and have a high friendship level with you.
  • Mega Evolution and the various alternate forms of Absol, Mewtwo, and other Pokémon were introduced as part of this generation.
  • Gen 6 includes one of the most elaborate and unique evolution methods in the entire Pokémon series. If you want to evolve Inkay into Malamar, you need to train Inkay up to level 30 and then when the evolution process starts, flip the console. This is achieved thanks to the internal gyroscope of the Nintendo 3DS and, being the first Nintendo portable console to include a gyroscope, this method of evolution would be impossible in previous generations.
  • Gen 6 is the first generation of Pokémon that does not have a pure Ground or Electric type Pokémon.
  • Thematically, Gen 6 focuses on the concepts of beauty, balance and harmony. This is demonstrated by the legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal, which represent the balance between life (Xerneas) and destruction (Yveltal).

The Season of Adventure Abundance is almost here! Before it arrives, try to complete the Fascinating Facets and Sky High special research missions. You can also complete a route and fight in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to run into Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Pokémon Go Gen 6 Pokémon List

Like previous generations of Pokémon, such as Gen 5, most evolutions will simply require you to collect a specific amount of candy.

However, we can expect to see a Gen 6 version of Unova and Sinnoh Stone since, like Gen 4 and 5, this generation has a number of Pokémon that will only evolve if they are traded while holding a specific item.

Various Pokémon may also be affected by the trading mechanic, which will make their evolution easier once they have been traded with another player.
