National Voters Day 2023: The day is dedicated to the voters of the country, creates awareness among voters and promotes informed participation in the electoral process. Since 2011 it has been celebrated throughout the country. On this day in 1950, the Election Commission of India was established. The main objective of celebrating the day is to encourage, facilitate and maximize registration, mainly of new voters.
This year we celebrate the 13th National Voters Day and its theme is “Making elections inclusive, accessible and participatory.” The issue focuses on ICE’s commitments to facilitate active voter participation during elections. Also, making the entire process a hassle-free and memorable experience for all categories of voters.
A national voter awareness contest, “My Vote is My Future: The Power of a Vote,” will also be launched on social media that day. It is dedicated to voters and conveys the feelings and aspirations of individuals towards participation in the electoral process through the power of their vote.
