The Riveter is one of the new weapons you will find in Modern Warfare 3.
At first glance, it may look like an assault rifle, but it is actually a shotgun with an AR receiver attached. It packs a punch when you use it, but is lacking in certain areas. These can be mitigated with specific accessories and benefits.
In this guide, we’ll look at how to unlock the Riveter in Modern Warfare 3, the best loadout, and the best class build, including perks, equipment, and equipment, for this unique shotgun.

How to unlock the Riveter in Modern Warfare 3
The Riveter can be unlocked through the Armory in Modern Warfare 3, which in turn is unlocked when you reach level 25.

After unlocking the Armory, you’ll be able to unlock specific weapons within it by completing certain challenges, including the Riveter.
Once you unlock the Riveter, you can use it on your loadouts and customize it to your needs.
Modern Warfare 3 Riveter Best Equipment and Accessories
The Riveter has some notable shortcomings in its stats in Modern Warfare 3, particularly its damage and range. Therefore, we will seek to improve them with our general equipment.
Here is an overview of the best riveter accessories in MW3:
- Ammunition: .410 caliber bullet projectiles
- Barrel: JCX-L Suppressed Barrel
- Optics: Slate Reflector or Cronen Mini Red Dot, or Cronen Mini Pro
- Rear Grip: Ghost Grip
- Under the barrel: Foregrip Command
To start, we chose .410 caliber shells as ammunition for this shotgun. Slug bullets have a low muzzle velocity and high stopping power, enough to cause lasting damage to your enemies. Not to mention that the bullet speed improves quite a bit.

The JCX-L suppressed barrel increases range and bullet velocity, as well as providing much-needed suppression. The downside here, however, is that ADS and sprint-to-shot speed are affected.
To compensate for ADS and run to shoot, the Phantom Grip is selected as they improve that. Overall, this keeps them balanced.
The Slate Reflector is one of many optics available for the Riveter. It mainly depends on your choice of which optic you want to use, but it is recommended to choose one that has a point. For example, you can use the Cronen Mini Dot or Mini Pro instead of the Slate Reflector.

Finally, the Commando Foregrip improves aiming and much-needed recoil control.
Many attachments were tested with the Riveter and ultimately keep it stable while improving damage and range.
Modern Warfare 3 Riveter Best Build, Vest, Perks, Gear and Class Loadout
Each of the support teams has their own strengths to make the Riveter stand out in this Modern Warfare 3 class build. Here’s a look at the overall build of the Riveter class:
- Vest: Engineer Vest or Over Vest
- Benefit 1 – Gloves: Quick Grip Gloves
- Benefit 2 – Boots: running shoes
- Benefit 3 – Equipment: Magnetic Case
- Perk 4 – Equipment: Signal Blocker
- Secondary Weapon: COR-45 or Renetti Jak Ferocity
- Field Upgrade: Ammunition Box or Heartbeat Sensor or Portable Radar
- Tactics: flash or stun grenade
- Lethal: Frag Grenade (in case of Overkill Vest)
For the vest, we chose the engineer vest. With this, you will be able to detect enemy teams, field upgrades, and killstreaks through walls. In ADS mode, you will also be able to highlight them for the team. On top of that, field upgrades will recharge much faster.

You can also opt for the Overkill Vest as it will help you gain an additional main weapon slot while also improving your weapon swap speed and giving you the ability to reload while running.
Quick-Grip Gloves increase weapon switching speed. This is crucial since when you run out of ammo, you can quickly switch to your secondary.
In the case of boots, it depends on the player’s choice, but we found that running shoes are useful. These increase the tactical sprint duration and refresh time. This is essential when you prefer to roam the map and select enemies.
With two equipment options in this class configuration, there is a lot for you to choose from. For our recommended build, Mag Holster and Signal Jammer are selected. The Mag Holster will improve the weapon’s reload speed, while the Signal Jammer will emit a signal that will warn you of nearby enemy equipment and also disrupt enemy Claymores and mines.
In the secondary weapon slot, if you are with the engineer vest, choose the COR-45 or Renetti Jak Ferocity as they are excellent in their weapon class. If you are with the Overkill Vest, you can use the MCW or AMR9 along with other assault rifles and SMGs with high fire rates.
Field improvement depends largely on the situation in which you are playing. The ammo box can help you when you run out of ammo and equipment. If that doesn’t suit you, you can opt for the heartbeat sensor, which can also help you detect nearby enemies. You can also use the portable radar as it will ping nearby enemies.
For tactical gear, Flash or Stun Grenade are reliable when wearing the Engineer Vest, as you get two of them. If you use the Overkill Vest, you will have the option to equip a lethal, which is where we recommend using the Frag Grenade.
