1. G1 class solar storm: June 29
The G1 CLASS SOLAR STORM hit the blue planet on June 29 and earned its spot as number one on our list by tearing a hole in our planet’s magnetosphere.
Caused by CIR or Corotative Interaction Region, this storm can very easily cause shortwave radio blackouts and GPS outages.
2. Class G1 solar storm: November 3
The second scariest storm is the same as the first, the CLASS G1 SOLAR STORM, but the difference is that it appeared again on a different date, November 3 with pink auroras this time, which is extremely rare.
The storm was seen near Greenland and the CME was only able to reach the lower strata of the atmosphere and, as a result, the ionized nitrogen caused a rather strange pink aura.
3. Class X solar flare: November 6
The extremely powerful X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE emerged on November 6, taking third place as this storm caused temporary radio blackouts in Australia and New Zealand.
The storm not only blocked radio communications but also hindered the operation of several emergency services and airlines for hours.
4. STEVE: August 7 and 8
The mysterious phenomenon STEVE or Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement appeared between August 7 and 8, forming a huge light in the shape of a violet ribbon followed by green. The storm was seen in parts of North America.
5. Class G2 solar storm and class G1 solar storm: March 14
On March 14, a CLASS G2 SOLAR STORM and a CLASS G1 SOLAR STORM were observed one after the other. Scientists have predicted that these will be frequent in the coming days as the sun is reaching its solar cycle.
6. Class G2 solar storm: October 25
An eerie smile was seen on the sun on October 25, which was the result of the G2-class solar storm that spewed dangerous solar particles toward Earth.
The dark regions formed a smiling face before the sun. This storm is immensely strong as it can cause fluctuations in our planet’s electrical networks.
