The Governor of Gujarat acts as the President of the nominal representative of India in the state of Gujarat. The governor, who resides at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar, is elected by the president for a five-year term. The governor was appointed on 22 July 2019 by Acharya Devvrat.
The governors of Gujarat have a variety of powers, including discretionary powers, legislative powers, executive powers related to administration, appointments and dismissals, and legislative powers related to law-making and the state legislature, known as Vidhan Sabha or Vidhan Parishad.
