What is middle-of-the-road AI?

Midjourney is a text-to-image generative AI tool created by independent research lab Midjourney, Inc., based in San Francisco. Its main function is to create images from the text that users enter, called prompts.

Midjourney follows a similar working model to other AI imagers such as DALL-E and OpenAI’s Stable Diffusion, but is more accessible and bug-free. Many of the fun AI images you see today of politicians like bodybuilders and historical figures like rappers are created with Midjourney.

Midjourney launched on July 12, 2022 with an open beta. It used to have a free trial, but currently works on a subscription basis and offers three pricing tiers.
