Over two years, the tournament features an impressive schedule of 68 matches in 27 series. The league stage promises high-octane action as teams battle it out to secure a place in the final at Lord’s, London. Each team is scheduled to participate in six series, split evenly between home and away games, with each series comprising two to five test games. Throughout the championship, each entrant will compete in a rigorous schedule of 12 to 22 matches, each spanning a challenging five-day period.

India’s ranking in the ongoing world test championship

Despite the suspense between England and Australia at the Ashes, both were penalized for slower rates, resulting in -19 and -10 deductions from their overall series points. This has brought some big changes to the WTC rankings, as the West Indies have now moved to number 3, overtaking England.

Although India was leading at number 1, the draw in the second test match against the West Indies and Pakistan’s victory against Sri Lanka put India at second place. The Ashes were settled in a thrilling draw after England recovered within two games, also giving a fitting farewell to star bowler Stuart Broad.

An unforgettable race 🤩

ICC WTC Match Schedule

On 17 August 2022, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the Future Tour Schedule 2023-2027, which outlines the series that would be integrated into the World Test Championship. Unlike the round-robin format, where all teams face each other equally, in this cycle each team will participate in only six of the other eight teams, as was the case in previous editions. The specific dates and locations of these series will be determined by the respective boards of directors of the competing teams.
