How to get the Rubber Armor in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The rubber armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comes in three pieces: a helmet, a chest piece, and stockings. Each individual piece has its own advantages and benefits, but the armor is most powerful when you combine all three pieces.

As with other Hyrule armor pieces in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, each part of the rubber armor set is hidden in chests deep in caves throughout the Kingdom. It’s a long road to find them all, but this piece of armor is worth it.

Without further ado, we are here to show you how to get Rubber Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The rubber armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom increases Link’s shock resistance level and, if you have the whole outfit on, can make your worries about being struck by lightning a thing of the past. Well, at least in Hyrule.

Armor can be upgraded at a Great Fairy Fountain up to four times. Every time you upgrade a piece of armor, it will increase its defense stat and make the piece or pieces stronger.

Here is a list of each Rubber Armor upgrade and how much it will cost:

How to get the rubber helmet in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Rubber Helm in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is in the Sarjon Woods Cave in Sarjon Woods. This is northeast of Utushok Shrine and Highland Stable, and northwest of Lakeside Stable.

We have marked the entrance on the map below and the coordinates of the entrance to Sarjon Woods cave are (1204, -3168, 0028).

Once you reach the entrance to the cave, you will see that it is covered in vines.

Burn this set and the second set of vines to enter the cave where you will see a river.

Make sure you have plenty of stamina and foods or elixirs that increase it while swimming for a while.

When you’re ready, jump into the river and swim forward following the current until you come across a black Horriblin on the roof and more vines blocking your path across the river. You can try to swim through the gaps between the vines, but if you don’t have enough stamina we recommend stopping on one of the ledges next to the river and using an arrow to take down the Horriblin before he hits you.

Horriblins can’t swim, so an arrow to the face should knock him into the water, where he’ll drown and stop bothering you.

Once ready, return to the water and swim forward following the current again. Rinse and repeat the steps of finding vines, going out to the ledges to rest, shooting Horriblins, and dodging Like Like until you find a set of five small waterfalls that drop into a large pool at the end of the cave.

Once you are in the pool below, face the opposite side (facing away from the waterfalls). You’ll see a chest here and the rubber helmet is here.

How to get Rubber Armor in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Rubber Armor chest piece in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found in Whistling Hill Cave in Hyrule Field. This cave is north of Teniten Shrine and is actually marked with an “X” on your map if you have started searching for Misko’s Treasure.

We have marked the exact location of the cave on the map below and the coordinates of Whistling Hill Cave are (-0064, -1052, 0019).

When you reach the entrance to the cave you will see that it is blocked by rocks. Smash them with a hammer (you can make one by fusing a rock with a stick) and enter the cave.

Follow the path down and back, fighting some Keese along the way, until you reach a larger room in the cave. To your left will be a blocked entrance and to your right will be a vine covered door. This time, you need to head towards the vines.

Set fire to them to burn them and then do the same to the second set in your path. Then, walk to the edge of the path and look down. You should see some Stalkoblins down here.

Carefully go down here and take care of the trio before moving on. Follow the path to another larger room in the cave.

When you are in this larger room, you should see a stone ledge to your left. Stand below it and use Ascend to traverse the top.

Once you’re up there, be careful, as there’s a Like at the top of the ramp leading to the next area and he likes to spit rocks at you. Wait for Like Like to stop spitting stones and run up the ramp to get behind him.

Once you’ve passed Like Like, follow the path until you reach another door blocked by rocks. Like you did before, make your way through them and you’ll be in another large room with a Shock Like, but you won’t be able to run away from this one. You must defeat him.

Shoot it with an arrow, preferably one with an ice or fire elemental attachment, and wait for it to expose the moving thing in its mouth. When he does, hit him with an arrow to make Shock Like fall to the ground. When it does, run and attack the exposed part with your melee weapon. Rinse and repeat until defeated.

Once you’re past the Shock Like, look to where it was on the wall and you should see another higher area blocked with rocks. Back away (the center of the room is safer) and shoot a flower bomb at the rocks to break them.

Simply drop into the cave and prepare to fight a Black Horriblin. Fight the Horriblin and then follow the water here, swimming south.

Stop at the first mound of rocks in the middle of the water if you need to recharge your energy, here you are going against the current so you will consume more energy in a short space of time.

Continue swimming south to the next room and there will be a large rock in the middle of the water with spikes around the edge. Continue heading towards the south side of this rock and climb through the opening here to reach it safely.

Once on the rock, look south again and you should see another opening blocked by rocks. Attach a bomb flower to an arrow and shoot it at the rocks to knock them down.

Then, head to the newly made opening and climb into it. You will find the rubber stockings in a chest here.
