Gerudo Town in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been swallowed by a sandstorm that makes it difficult to see in front of you and the storm renders your Purah Pad basically useless. Without a map to guide you, traversing the storm to find the city can be a headache, especially with the slightly terrifying Gibdos lurking around.
Getting to Gerudo Town in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom forces you to rely on your own sense of direction and has you use your paraglider to try to get a clear view of the situation ahead. Once you find the city, you will not be allowed to enter and will have to find another way to get Link inside.
We’ll show you how to find Gerudo Town and how to enter Gerudo Town in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Find Gerudo City in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Now, to find Gerudo Town you must rely on your own sense of direction, Link’s paraglider, and some coordinates. There is a huge sandstorm covering Gerudo Town and its surroundings, and this storm prevents Purah Pad from working. If you look at it while you are in the storm, you will only see static on the screen, you will no longer have a map or see your pins. This can make finding Gerudo Town quite difficult.
To find Gerudo Town, start at the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. We have marked its location on the map below. The coordinates of Skyview Tower are -2432, -2178, 0307.
Next, use your Purah Pad to place a pin slightly south of the regional phenomena, as this is where you will find Gerudo Town.
Now, from Skyview Tower, use your Purah Pad to lower another marker on your map. This time, you’ll want to place the next pin on the Kara Kara Bazaar location. We’ve circled your exact location on the map below for you. The coordinates of Kara Kara Bazaar are -3267, -2550, 0023.
Once you’ve done this, head to Kara Kara Bazaar and activate the Mayatat Shrine here, as this will create a fast travel point that will be useful in the long run.
When you have found the Bazaar, head to the pot near the shops next to the Shrine and you should see an updraft with some people grouped in front of it. Head here and use your paraglider to ride the updraft.
The updraft will lift you above the storm for a few seconds and your Purah Pad will work again. Quickly check the direction you’re facing to make sure you’re facing the same direction as your pin. Then, when you land back in the sand facing the direction of your pin, keep moving forward in a straight line.
Now, staying in a straight line can be difficult with enemies spread out. There are monsters called Gibdo all over the desert and they don’t really take damage from melee weapons when you first encounter them. Instead, hit them with an elemental attack (such as a flame fruit attached to an arrow) to turn them white. When they turn white and look like a skeleton, you can hit them with melee attacks as they will be vulnerable.
Additionally, you are likely to come across a Desert Rift (a large canyon). You can slide to the other side if you wish. If you go around it, watch for more updrafts that lift you above the storm and check your location again.
Fortunately, the storm does not block your entire Purah Pad. Your coordinates still work! So, with that in mind, Gerudo Town’s coordinates are -3820, -2898, 0044.
Here is the exact location of Gerudo Town on a map; however, this location is only revealed after you discover the city yourself.
How to enter Gerudo Town in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Gerudo City is deserted, or so it seems. In fact, the city has moved into a bunker. To enter the town, look towards the main building in the square (this is the one with a Sanctuary right at the top). Below the main doors of the building, you should see an opening with torches and steps leading down.
Go down these stairs and talk to Reeza. You will find that you cannot enter because you are a Voe, but there is another way to enter the city. She goes back outside and looks at the main building again like you did before.
Then, in front of the main building, look to your left. You should see some cooking pots and an opening to the left of them. This is a pit.
Jump through the opening and you’ll land in an underground area. When you’re here, head to the end of the well. To do this, walk in the opposite direction to which the water is flowing. You will also notice that there are letters in bottles floating down the river. Pick one and read it if you want.
Then, when you reach the end of this pit, you will see a jug tied to a piece of rope. Here, look up and use Ascend to traverse the floor and reach the Gerudo Town shelter, where the entire town currently lives.
